As was said on the transfer thread, if we really want him, we'll match that bid.

It pains me to say it, but square head is fast off the mark when it comes to transfers - remembering when he had the Woods deal sealed before the window opened and a queue of rival clubs.
Bruce could learn something there, especially when it comes to strikers (who get snapped up quickly). I just hope we don't get a repeat of the 11th hour Long farce we had last summer.

Come on if it's between us and Leicester, he should come to us! Prem football, the lad seems a bargain for under a million. If he has a similiar impact to Sagbo then it'd be another brilliant deal!

OI! hands off our transfers :p

I don't see him coming to Leicester if hes wanted in the prem, but you never know, maybe he wants to prove himself, but i think he'd rather have the premier league wages.

Just makes a target for other clubs to aim at. I suspect the "£2m" that was bandied about before was agent speak for "I'm flying a kite". Because of our situation we are often used in that way. Every agent implies about every player "Hull City have shown an interest", which is why 50% of every interview Steve Bruce gives starts with "I don't know where that's come from".

One journo makes a spurious connection, and all the others copy with "It is reported that...." or "Sources say............" I bet if one of the more credible posters on here (OLM or Riccardo for example) said he had inside knowledge of an incoming player it would be in the press within 3 days. "Sources close to Hull City have revealed....". And the same applies to many clubs - usually the recently promoted, or those in the promotion spots at the beginning of the Transfer Window. Chances are Square Head read the report and thought "Who?"

Can we play a game where we all tweet/put on here about a random player and see where it comes up in the press?

Bruce could have made the early bid if he wanted. It's not like NP is the only manager who knows when the January transfer window opens. It's NP's style to get deals done early and fair play to him but if it Bruce wants to wait a bit longer in the hope of getting a better deal that's fine by me. I can never understand it when fans post things like the bit I've emboldened in your post; it implies you think he doesn't know how to do his job as well as you do.

We've definitely watched Djordevic but I don't think Bruce was impressed. I can't say for certain that we aren't following it up but that was the impression I got.

Make it vaguely believable, and accredit it (my uncle works in the finance dept at Hull City and....), we could have a prize for the first one to appear in the national press - maybe olm would put up a free membership of ctwd or something of that nature.

I'll start with Nahki Wells to Leeds Utd, Cameron Stewart to Leeds. and Ross McCormack to Hull.

No they need to be a bit more obscure than that so we can actually tell if it's happened

We did that in the OWS forum back in the days we were in D3. We were being linked with Trundle and other players who had about 15-20 goals by this stage of the season. I pointed out that Constantine at Southend had scored the same as the ones we were linked with, was younger, and would be cheaper. Next thing we knew it was in the HDM, and the club even quoted as saying we'd been watching their games. I reckon they were enjoying taking the piss out of Fieldhouse over it though, they were specific about saying we'd been watching Southend games and not Constantine, and then we signed Leon Cort.

    okay, Mrs Brown to Leeds.
4 reasons which make complete sense to me are:
    1) She/he is Irish which should make the vast majority of their fans happy
    2) She/he can swear back at the fans who tell her/him to f**k off at the end of matches.
    3) Her/his son already plays for them (Michael) so he can shout mammy when we wants the ball.
    4) everybody pisses themselves laffing when shes on, so its just like watching the Leeds team. Rochdale FFS anybody would think Leeds are going for promotion and trying to avoid a cup run.

    You heard it here first!!

I don't know if non-mods can see it, but the "who's online" option* is interesting at times.

*I know everybody can use the Spy mode to see posts and edits come up as they're made, but that obviously only shows activity, the who's online lets us see who is signed into the site and what they're doing, at least as far as knowing which threads they're reading at the time.
