Well he doesn't stay on his feet neither does the player tackling him from behind. Maybe it was just a case of mass diving.
Ba didn't dive obviously. Just as obvious as it not being a penalty for the West Brom defender tackling him. Take the blinkers off before it gets embarrassing
Two wrongs don't make a right... Regardless of a tackle on Ba (which we can only see the start of), the Ramires thing is a dive. And Drogs, agree... the Modric one though, not sure if I'd call it a dive, but it's certainly simulation. For me, 'simulation' is the umbrella, and includes any attempt to con the referee; so that includes say -Diving -Feigning injury -Over-exaggerating contact -Dropping on the ball under pressure 'Simulation' is under the broader umbrella of unsporting conduct, which would include crowding the referee etc. Looking at it this way, you can separate diving from exaggerating contact (which is sometimes dependent on circumstance), and still call both unsporting (just one is always wrong).
Ref's should be able to refer the decision to a video ref, then make the decision. Reason. The ban will assist the next team that offenders team plays against and not the victim of the offense. Upon review, doesn't have to be immiediately, let the play flow , wait till the ball goes dead then if found guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Straight red. Plus ten minuites added to the clock
Bans should never be about assisting any team. It pisses me off when a group of fans complain that the only reason they lost was because a player wasnt sent off. Well guess what dick heads, football is a team game, and each team is 11 vs 11. Bans are about punishing the team or player responsible for the foul, NOT giving an advantage to another team by sending another player off. I would be all for what CP says. Hate it when a team gets someone sent off, ruins the game because it then becomes grossly unfair on the rest of the team who have to play a man down. And why should the opponent get the benefit of an easier game? They did nothing to earn this advantage....its bull$hit. I realise that there are circumstances in which a player should go....but even then, he has been red carded to punish HIM, not give an advantage to the opponent, thats just an unfortunate side effect.
Fair play to you, Drogs. Can't see Jose ordering it, but you have had a couple this season but, as has been said, you seem to get very little from refs this season from what I've seen, which is everything. BTW, I've got a tenner on you to win the league this year. Gambling is wrong, do as I say not as I do.
Sin bin seems to be a very good deterrent for minor offences in the Rugby codes, especially on video playback evidence. Punishment over and done with in the game, advantage relative to the "crime" , next opponents not affected. Bit radical for the "flat earth Ludites " like FIFA or the FA.
