His confidence is shot He brings a lot to the team (better alround player than Fletcher), but he has his record at Hull hanging over him. He came here hoping to prove himself, and as he hasnt been able to score regulary he is judging himself and he has lost confidence due to this.
He is completely shot mate agreed. I agree some of our fans haven't covered themselves in glory but when you pay £6m or £7m for a player and £30k a week wages, it's not over demanding to expect more than a 1 goal a season striker. The open goal tap in at Cardiff and the feeble, pathetic one on one yesterday should be the last straw. I think he us a likeable character but if we keep persisting with Jozy for much longer, our season is not going to end well. Our lack of potency from all strikers will cost us our EPL status this season.
how about fletcher then? He hasnt scored much this season, has looked out of sorts and has missed as many sitters as Altidore this season. Should we sell him? oh, and how much did we pay for him? when all of our strikers are incapable of scoring, including one who we know can score goals, then maybe we should be pointing our finger to the lack of creativity in the final 3rd rather than the strikers themselves ?
It's just terminology mate, poor English or maybe the red wine had kicked in by that time last night but I was genuinely pissed off with his inept performance against a very poor Carlisle. He wasn't the only one either, but as our main striker he was very poor yesterday. Didn't hold the ball up as has been suggested by others, didn't even control the ball very well to be honest, he probably gave the ball away more than passes completed. He laid a decent ball into the path of Ba for the 3rd goal, but Ba himself created that goal. Other than that I'm struggling to think of anything else he did. If his ability matched his work rate he'd be a superstar, unfortunately it doesn't and I just don't see how we can get out of the mess we're in if we're relying on him to get us goals, which is something he is paid very well to do.
Fletcher has been poor but at least he can point to no pre season and injuries as an explanation. Jozy missed a chance at Cardiff I'd have expected a schoolboy to tap in and his piss poor back pass shot when clean through against 2nd division opposition yesterday speaks volumes for his ineptitude. I'm not saying our midfield create a plethora of chances at all and we are looking to improve there too but if he can't tap in a 1 yarder or beat a keeper one on one then does it matter? The lad just isn't good enough. Hard as that might be for those who want him to be better but he isn't a goal scorer.
Like yesterday when he got put through and shot straight at the keepers legs again? He's awful, I've never seen any reason to rate him.
I just find it funny that he can score in international games, score in Holland but cant score here. Heskey is a striker who cant score for toffee (with the exception of 1 season for liverpool where he got into double figures), but at least he is/was as bad at international level as he was in the premier league.
Can't believe how bad he is there, Stupid yank twat Jozy, can't control it, can't pass blah blah blah ****ing blah. Did nothing all game according to some.
No he had no pre season Cest but we're half way through the season, He's fine, had more than enough time to get him up to speed. Hate why there's blame for Jozy and excuses for Fletch when both of them are in truth starved of both service and confidence.
He didn't mate, I was there watching him constantly give the ball away. One decent pass doesn't make him a good player, oh sorry, he laid a pass on for Watmore as well, that's 2 decent passes that spring to mind in 94 minutes.
You've contradicted yourself there, you've given him no credit then given him some reluctantly. He either did nothing or got an assist that led to a more comfortable result (which helps psychologically). Can't have both, it doesn't make sense. I'm not saying he played well but he bagged one assist and nearly got another. Regardless of his performance he did do something weather you deny it or not. Not sure which that is to be honest I won't deny one of our own players credit where it's due just because of a vendetta even if you will. Even if the contribution was little yet effective(balanced). I dislike Bardo for a hell of a better reason than poor performances but I've credited him for his three goals and rightly so. We're clearly a different type of fan mate, not who goes to more games etc, I mean mentality. They're all **** this season, yet again, but I'll take every positive (valid positive) I can as and when they're presented and I count our sporadic blessings, no matter how small in what is and always has been a very rocky road. I certainly won't play my part in it's down fall.
Read post #65. And no were not different types of fans, we both want the same thing at the end of the day and I honestly don't know how many games you or anyone else gets to, I don't go to them all due to working overseas but I'm there when home, which is probably about half a seasons worth. But like you said, it's not about that at all, it's about wanting my team to do well. There is no vendetta either and I don't go round slagging players off, but I will voice my opinions on here and my opinion is that Jose just doesn't have what it takes to get us out of this mess. But, as I said earlier, I hope to **** he proves me wrong.
We should cut our losses, and get shot!If he carries-on his goal-drought,it could be disaster and it could cost Gus his job. That would be total disaster! If he can't score against Carlisle,he's hardly going to score against Man Utd!!!
Watmore will replace him starting tonight, he missed a sitter on sunday, the ball was played through and he shot straight at the goalkeeper another Flo,Kyle, Laslandes, graham, Chopra !.
Seen enough of Jozy A when he was at Hull to think he's crap. Not as crap as Danny Graham though... Please recall him. ( Alex Bruce is having a decent season.....much to my suprise )
