It's time to drop Soldado imo and play an attacking midfielder behind Adebayor.

Would be a possibility if Holtby and Lamela weren't banged up or Pritchard wasn't out on loan. Maybe try Kane in that role, sort of like how Sheringham was used in a 4411?

Totally agree with this. Yes he's young and has potential, but its this sort of behavior that shows he's not quite there yet. We cannot afford these errors and simply need a more composed, mature LB who can help rose learn, too.

Soldado will probably be fine in the next game. The team will have had a chance to rest and the system will suit a home tie against Palace.
We desperately need some options up front, though. Getting a few of our injured players back will help, too.

  5. If we do that, we've got to be thinking about selling him, because dropping him now would be a massive dent to an already badly damaged confidence.

As I've said several times before, Soldado has done nothing other than prove that he is our new Pav. Okay, perhaps he's a better link-up player than Pav was, but we didn't buy him for his link-up play, we bought him to score us a lot of goals, and he simply does not look capable of doing that.

I'm all for selling him, but I doubt that Levy is yet prepared to take the hit on fees that will inevitably be involved, which would be at least £10m, in my opinion, because I really cannot see anyone being prepared to pay £20m for him.

Spurs have become such a Jekyll and Hyde team. They can play the same 11 players for two consecutive games and look like two different teams.
Seems like Man U are in the same boat!!!!!
.....and Fat Sam looks like he'll be on his bike very soon.

    What a bloody mess!!!!!!!

....and please don't be charitable to Palace Spurs!!!!

Soldado has been creating chances so be daft to drop him on current form as he is involved in chances created and scored, plus he is ice cool from the penalty spot.

Goal return wise he can't be defended but you have to respect the fact he doesn't allow it to effect his overall performance and as long as he continues to perform then we should play him.

Whilst I agree that Soldado has been a disappointment, I personally feel its a confidence thing. You can see he is snatching at chances and panicking when he has he opportunity to score. His runs and movement in the box are badly timed and his shots are pulling wide because he's trying too hard. Yet his passing, vision and interplay looks very good in recent matches.

I just think he needs a good game and a couple of goals from open play and he'll never look back. With Ade up top with him, he'll get more chances but for the first 15-20 matches this season, he's been isolated in an AVB system that forced him to feed off scraps which can only lead to the pressure mounting on him. Give the guy some more time before condemning him to the scrap head. If he feels he's lost the faith of the fans, what chance does he have of recapturing the form he showed in Spain?

Surely our scouting team saw something in him worth paying over £25m for so he must be worth persisting with. Get behind the bloke and I am sure he will deliver. It may not be until next season that we see his very best form but to say he's a failure after half a season is short sighted in my view. He's one of many new players in a completely new team, not only getting to grips with the Premier League but learning about new players within a new playing style under another new manager. It must be very unsettling.

Selling him makes no sense on any level.

He's not preforming though is he,he was brought to score goals, and not only from Penalty's,he was never a threat v the goons, and was replaced,he's link up play might be good, but it has'nt created chances, and i'm beginning to think he is'nt going to make a good P/L striker

On the flip side, what if he was amazing in one season, then faded away next?
    A bit like Benteke has.

He's got a great record tots, we've just gotta be patient. Too any changes and disruptions this season.

Another ridiculous decision to go along with the one to hold the game at 5.15pm on a Saturday, cutting the Spurs' attendance in half, and giving Clattenburg the nod. <ok>
Well done, folks at the FA. At least you're consistent.

Edit: Just thinking about it and this decision's really stupid. The FA could've banned Walcott to send a message to players and Arsenal wouldn't have appealed it, as he's injured. Really dumb.

Gary Neville was fined £5000 for celebrating a goal in front of Liverpool fans.

    How can that be worse?

I remember the excuses Man Utd fans were giving for that one, saying he was celebrating with the disabled Man Utd fans.

Slight problem with that - the disabled fans were at the other end of the pitch, as were the rest of his teammates as they celebrated the goal...

...and several hours down the pub beforehand.

The SFA scheduled Old Firm derbies for lunchtime for this reason, Man Utd/Liverpool usually gets an early kickoff...so somebody at The FA should take some responsibility for letting TV dictate that the match should kick off at 5:15.
