Odd that so many 'fans' seem to want to ridicule him. He changed our history like no other manager has ever done, yet some choose to highlight the superficial 'Soccer AM' jibes. It's tacky and embarrassing that we have a section of our support with so little appreciation for what he did for us. Do you think some Man U fans ridicule Ferguson for his red nose or Bobby Charlton for his comb-over?
Jesus Christ, it's called banter. Everton did the same with Moyes this season. We can show appreciation before and after the match, and as I think we should at the time that Windass scored at Wembley, but besides that, he's the enemy.
That old chestnut. Not interested what other clubs do/don't do. In terms of HCFC, PB has a place like no other.
What I'm missing is why some 'fans' feel the need to ridicule our greatest ever manager (hopefully surpassed by SB this season). Why?
Because it's a bit of fun, and Phil Brown wouldn't mind it either? It's not like we're calling him a fat **** or something? A good example: The Kop chanting "What the ****ing hell was that" to a Suarez free kick that hit Row Z. Did Suarez swear at them or look upset? Or did he have a good laugh?
I'm sure Phil Brown would appreciate applause or his name being chanted before/after the game more. A chance to show our class as supporters.
The team talk was probably his most infamous moment while he was Hull City manager. Yet in my opinion it worked. The second half of that match was unrecognisable to the first. The following home game against Villa was one of our best performances of the season. It was just the media who blew it out of all proportion. Despite all the hype that he'd lost the dressing room. He kept the players together enough to survive with memorable performances against Chelsea , Fulham and Bolton. Browny took the Jimmy Bullard Man City goal celebration in good humour. I'm sure he would again if City's away following happened to remind him of it again.
I always thought that Bullard celebration was aimed at the media who were obsessed with the incident.....
It was and to a certain extent it laid the ghost to rest. I remember him saying in an interview that he thought it was hilarious and that it was Paul McShane who was the main instigator.
Yet the same old numbnuts in the media still didn't get it. He lost the dressing room at the first Man City game yet almost a year later we go there under PB and eke out a very creditable draw, coming from behind..........
