I've criticised this bloke all season but actually had a bet on him to score the first goal today, as I thought against a 'lesser' opposition he would maybe look good and possibly score. I was wrong, he was his usual useless self and should hang his boots up and give his wages to charity. He simply isn't good enough and needs replacing, fast.
I've been patient and still have a bit of patience left but it's getting harder to defend his goal return which desperately needs to improve.
I'm beginning to agree but it's got to be taken into consideration that he does offer quite a bit in build up play and the service afforded to him is ****e or not to his strengths. He does however need to start scoring or he won't last longer than a season.
I'm staggered some people can't see it. It's of my opinion it says more about some peoples understanding of our new philosophy then Jozy Altidore. Probably the people who'd like to see us play direct with a 442.
He needs to score though mate. Just not doing enough in front of goal at the moment and build up play will only satisfy peoples demands for so long.
I agree mate. Love his build up play but it's not enough. I might come across as a fan of his but actually I'm still on the fence with him but the way he's being treated is disgraceful. Bunch of ****ers man. He's started 13 games for us.
Couldn't agree more mate. I said after his first showings for us I would call him wardrobedoor until he made me change my mind. (As his control was so **** and the ball just bounced off him.) I also said I would give him time to prove me wrong, I have and he hasn't. Even the top players miss control some times but if they miss controlled as often as wardrobedoor they wouldn't be top players. He stands still rooted to the spot waving his arms for a pass, then when he receives the ball he has to build up steam to move with the ball, instead of making a run to give the passer an option. I have noticed the last few league games that it may be contagious as Fletcher has started doing the waving both hands in the air whilst standing still too. Top strikers make the runs and hope for the ball to come, that's what Fletcher was doing when he was scoring best.
maybe we should play him at CB? kidding i'm slowly losing patience but it isnt gone - yet - keeping missing golden opportunities is doing nothing for the lads confidence, no way i would start him on tuesday, gotta go ---- Catts Jack ---------------Giacc --AJ-----Ki-----// ---((----!!!----)) -------------Borini --------------)) ------- Fletch
Altidore at CB might not be that far fetched. A certain Greg Halford scored 3 in his last three gamesd prior to today in a ST positino.
K Jones at CB too, but there are those that say the switch up front wasn't far enough. A move to tiddly winks may have suited him better.
Dave Watson, arguably the best CB we've had. converted from CF, he could control the ball though and was pretty nimble for a big lad
