A place in the most reputable tournament in the world should not be a reward for winning 6 knockout matches (if you're in the Championship or Premier League). Also a Championship team in the CL, while being hilarious, would be a complete waste of time. Europa League is tough enough as it is, even for mid-table PL sides, never mind Championship sides. Swansea have barely qualified for knockouts and are sh ite in the league due to Europa too. 90% of FA cup winners would not be able to handle the CL.
But finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th should get you a spot in ' the champions league'? At least if they gave a spot to the winners of the fa cup there would be more champions in the comp!
I would remove the 4th spot and give it to the FA up winners and offer it to other countries. Cup comps are losing their importance all over Europe giving the main cup a CL slot would mean one hell of a cup comp. Downside being you won't ever see a smaller team having that cup run ever again.
"Champion's League" is a misnomer. They should change it to something more appropriate but keep eligibility confined to the top teams in their league. Change the name to reflect the content rather than adjust the content to suit the name. There's enough cannon fodder in these competitions as it is, imo.
But the 4th best team in England is better than the best team in pretty much every league except Spain, Germany and Italy. Best not to take the name too literally.
Problem with giving the FA cup the fourth spot... - It's harder to come 4th, arguably. - If winning gets you a CL spot, then the runner up will get it if the winner already has CL. So, say Milwall, Stoke, Wigan etc could be in the CL. - These teams get twatted from pillar to post by Bayern etc (if they reach group stage). England's coefficient lowers. Noone wins. EDIT: Obviously I'm too young to remember the literal 'champions' league... isn't part of the fun of the competition seeing teams like Liverpool 04/05 win?
Well you can at least get a radio commentary on the match on RADIO 5 LIVE EXTRA - provided you have access to a digital radio!
if you have access to it lfctv will have commentary of the game with Steve Hunter and someone else, which is normally Fairclough.

Hey not so quick youngster! If you think about it for a moment, if you don't have access to the internet then you won't be reading this. Therefore, as you do have access to the internet then you also have access to digital radio (the source of the broadcast). End of lecture
