That is probably why I didn't see it, I was looking for posts that said Southend (not at home) in them.

Beat Southend and get a fairly easy draw in the next round, and there are some, and we can go along way in this.

A welcome reunion with arguably our greatest-ever manager (who has revived Southend's fortunes).

Well done to all who attend this game.

Phil Brown: "You couldn't write the script. It is what the FA Cup is about. Coming up against @hullcityteam will be a great test for us."

Phil Brown: "It's a great draw and the players deserve the chance against PL opposition, but we've got two big games before then."

Phil Brown: "I know Steve very well and they are a top side. Hopefully Roots Hall will be absolutely packed for the tie."

There's not many decent matches on paper in that draw.

There was an away game in Lancashire, I think it was in 2009, when there were twelve lads all dressed as Brownie, orange faces, pink jumpers, boom microphones etc.

Anyone seen the state of Southends pitch? An upset could be a real possibility here.

Wigan had some decent draws last year, but I'm not sure I'd be confident of us beating Everton away and Man City at Wembley

    I remember that <laugh>

Pretty sure that it was Wigan, though I might be wrong

A few of them sit a few seats across from me at the KC

Forgot to add, I'm pleased with this draw. Never been to Roots Hall but I've heard it's a good away day, and it seems like my type of ground.

One tool on their forum says that without Huddlestone and Livermore "we're nothing special", as if without them we're suddenly a side of similar quality to Newport or Accrington.

The side we put out against Middlesbrough was entirely second-string, and yet still had players who were top-quality in the Championship - Boyd and Quinn to name two. It's as winnable a game as we could have hoped for, but with them having home advantage, Brownie's desperation to get one over us and their players looking for a Premier League scalp, not a straightforward one.

Do you sit in the West Stand?

They're all Premier Club members, most of them are from Brough.
