I'm back at my place after watching 3 days of piss poor cricket and a scared and weak England team - what a waste of money

That's a bit of a sweeping statement saying that not one immigrant to the UK would defend it with their life.

Know them all personally do you?

Australia have been the better team by far, congratulations to them and to Michael Clarke.

Not only for the superior cricket they have played but for showing a bit of class when talking to the media after the game.

Goes to shoe that even proper Australians can show a bit of grace in victory and not gloat.

You're English, you can't hide that fact. It is just the cycle of sport, it won't be long before the natural order is resumed and England put Australia back in their place. Will you support England then? Honestly, loads of Australians and Kiwis live over here, you don't see them supporting England.

Will be interesting to see how this Aussie team manages against South Africa.
This was a good Aussie team who beat a team who believed all the pre-tour hype about how good they were and how easy the Ashes Tour would be.
England finished by playing like rabbits in car headlights, brainless and terrified.
    Lot of rebuilding required.

Indeed. If Johnson and Harris can stay in form and fit (respectively), then their battle with S Africa's batsmen should be titanic.

The difference will be S Africa's bowlers, though - the Aussie batting still has too many frailties, and Haddin's get-out-of-jail-free card only works against England.

The difference will be if Australia are 150/5 against South Africa they won't get anywhere near 400.

Despite have really good series other then Clarke there batting is average.

A passport is just a travel document that runs for a period of time. What does it say on his birth certificate? There isn't any getting away from the fact he's English!

Exactly. Don't say that about Mo Farah, though. You'd be racist.

The only 'true' Australians are the Aborigines, the rest of us are migrants.
I am English by birth and Australian by choice.
Are you telling me that if a cat is born in a stable it is therefore a horse?

If the stable was in Australia, would it be an Australian or an English cat?

No, it's still a Cat. If the stable was in Australia it would be an Australian Cat, if the stable was in England it would be an English Cat.

Next week I think I might be American.

My mate Aussie Dave has been in England 15 years and supports Australia with a passion.

    That's because he's Australian.

He could live here for another 50 years and will always support Australia.

    That's because he's Australian.

I once asked him if he would ever consider supporting England, that was in general and not against the Aussies.

He said something like' Not whilst my arsehole points south mate. **** that'.

    That's because he's Australian.

    Proper Australian.

I wouldn't expect any different and would lose respect for him if he turned his back on his motherland.

I'll see him this week for the first time since the series began.

Something I'm not particularly looking forward to.
