Mustn't forget that Burnley are a quality Championship side who may be promoted this season...not League 1 stragglers.
Not directed at you flt as we were having this discussion yesterday and you clearly stated your reasons for resting players for THIS round, which I partially agree with
Enough of the personal stuff already! I can't help wondering how many of those expressing such strong opinions have actually seen more that 2 minutes of the match? Blimey, this thread. What was Pards phrase? Handbags at half mast?
A bit better than CBKs dismal prediction, the weather wasn't as good as predicted but you have to give credit to the Groundstaff on the pitch they presented, in such awful conditions.
To be fair considering we have won 1/9 or whatever it is now and writing other bad headlines, it's not too meltdown-y, some other boards would have totally lost it by now, bans, mods quitting, boycotts, the works.
I still felt quite lonely with none of the usual people around me. The kids were OK but some of the parents were a bleeding nuisance. Why do modern parents have to be constantly feeding their brats? The fat little ten year old in the seat beside me took up more room than the forty year old bloke who normally sits there. Talking of little fatties when the Burnley team lined up I thought they were all Rooney clones. Almost all of them were heavily built with thick necks.
That fact was mentioned on Radio Solent, pity Victor wasn't there, it would have been amusing to see them bouncing off of him.
Hmmm. What are you saying - careful research sometimes still turns up duds or careful research is not worth doing? One is a statement of the bleedin' obvious, the other is tripe of the highest order. Which one were you going for? Vin
Yes, but this board has the mature, measured and witty posters. And the better we play, the more mature, measured and witty we all are.
In the carefully worded PR exercise the club was doing in recent months about how it scouts players & due dilligence etc etc, it of course, only mentioned the good signings, not the bad ones. If the club uses the same techniques to sign players, then if they are failures like Forren, then it proves it just as risky as perhaps a few "knee-jerk" signings that happen in January or on deadline day.
