Don't let the former Spice Boy read that, SC. Something tells me he still rather fancies himself. Is the other guy Gary Doherty?
As what?? With Jamie's TV schedule with Sky Sport and League of Their Own, I can't see him having the time to do anything other than to offer the sly digs. However, Tim and jamie are golf buddies, can't see it myself. As for the Ade hat story, , doubt that, Ade's main 'offence' was timekeeping I thought, late back from Internationals missing training etc. and a few other bibs n bobs extending from that, but that is where AVB was a right 'james hunt' imo and should not let situations escalate out of proportion, same with Benoit. I agree with discipline, and whoever it is should be dealt with "appropriately", and I think thats what was missing in these two players incidents.
Anyway, Tim said yesterday we don't need anyone (not sure who he's trying to kid with that one!)....unless a player is available that significantly improves 'the 11'....undoes one sentence with another!...I wonder who his 11 are!
I really do hope that we do not end up with J Redknap on the coaching staff! He has never impressed me, either as a player or as a pundit, so I really cannot imagine that he can add much. At least Taylor added real value when he assisted Cloughie.
David ginola is currently doing his coaching badges so it's the old boys club, Sherwood, Freund, Ferdinand and Ginola. Although we need another to make It a proper boy band and unfortunately Jamie Redknapp fits the bill!
Sherwood, Freund, Ginola, Ferdinand...any other players from the George Graham era lined up for a coaching role?
The sunday people seems to think we're after Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vuvinic of Juventus, if Defoe goes. Both have roughly a 1 in 3 hit rate.
http://www.football-italia.net/43365/arsenal-told-vucinic-terms ?? ...who knows! All I know about Vucinic is he's 30 now, we bid for him before "twice" and there's something in the back of my mind that says one wasn't the politest no either. once in 09... http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/vucinic-snubs-tottenham-reports and again in 11... http://metro.co.uk/2011/07/29/mirko-vucinic-set-to-snub-spurs-and-man-united-to-join-juventus-97356/ In the 2 qualifiers against Montenegro I thought he was crap, a shadow of 3/5 yr ago.
Fail started that last night mate... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2533933/Steven-Fletcher-eyed-Tottenham-Hotspur.html?ico=sport^mostread ...not you, the paper! edit - don't know why link won't highlight in blue, you'll have to c&p the address yourself.
Might not be to bad, sell Soldado, don't think he's ever going to score from open play,at least Fletcher is a proven P/L striker
We'd be luck to get 10-15m for soldado right now due to his "lack of goals". As others have said, he just needs a goal. He's doing everything else. However, I wouldn't be against him having a rest. He's trying too hard, so perhaps a rest for a game or two might make him come back sharper.
Again, it comes back to "who are we going to get in a January window"? This is why I don't understand why so many want rid of Defoe. We won't be able to replace him with anyone better without spending fortunes. - then we could end up with another soldado! Edit: just seen that we're interested in Kalou...
Defoe is OK but he only scores goals and offers almost nothing else. He is a very poor version of Jimmy Greaves (only half the goals). In almost any formation there are a lot of £10m - £20m players who would be an improvement.
