You have a very short and selective memory.

Arsenal fully deserved the victory. By far the better team today. 442 was always going to end up with us being overrun in midfield, and it didn't help that both of our strikers we're complete ****e.

We miss vertonghen so badly at the back. I have no confidence in the Dawson chiriches partnership, one or both always seem to get caught out of position.

Dunno what to even say about Rose. "Naive" is about the only word. <doh>

So much for picking him ahead of Assou-Ekotto because he doesn't do stupid tricks on the ball and cost us goals, eh?

I just think we wanted it more .

You have so many new players that dont even understand the rivalry .

Seemed like a half arsed performance .

I'm not devastated by the result or performance, didn't expect anything from this game given the two clubs' respective seasons so far. Would the AVB approach have worked today?

Was very disappointed with soldado after about 20 mins...we really need 3 midfielders in the middle of the pitch so cant see why we didnt go 433 or 451 and then change to 442 if need be.
But I guess sherwood is learning what the players can do.
Got to be honest ... imo they deserved to win ...

I thought both teams were a bit half arsed, disappointed because it didn't seem like a local derby. I know that you had 8 players on the injury list and we had 11, but there would have been more aggression in a Sunday League match.

yeah but we didnt need any aggression , we were allowed to pass it around as we liked , no one ever seemed to challenge us .

    A strange derby indeed.

Ade had a few chances but was totally contained, Soldado was totally invisible.

You could be right, missing Paulinho and Sandro is a bit like a snooker player turning up without his cue.

2 PL goals from him since we signed him and i bet not many assists either.

Not a lot to be selective about.

If that is your measure I suppose not, it's just very selective IMO and ignores what he brings to the team.

Ha! We need a top LB in this window, even before rose's mistake today. Benny is clearly a gonner, it's just a matter of when. And Rose isn't good enough, to put it bluntly. If you look at walker, the difference in quality between the two is huge. I wouldn't even say walker is at his best, either.
Rose wouldn't get into the starting line up of most, if not all of our rivals, which tells me enough.

    Fair enough.

I just think with the talent he has, he should score more and not just be known for being strong on the ball.

I agree. He often plays too deep for us, though. He's called upon to defend the backline more than attack.

A number of our players should score more but they have been bound in a negative system for some months. I blame the sysytem rather than individual players.

I agree Dembele does promise more than we appear to get but it's only a few games into a new coach's term and a coach with a very different attitude, so I am interested to see how he develops players like Dembele.

We've only had 1 midfielder in the last 10 years who could score goals at a decent rate.

VDV and we have young Holtby who could develop plus all the new midfielders a number of whom could be regular goalscorers, Paulinho, Eriksen and Lamela for example.

We were merely missing: Sandro, Paulinho, Holtby, Lamela, Sigurdsson, Townsend

    Facts, eh?
