So where exactly is the weakness in our team selection - on paper it looks pretty strong to me, not too far off a normal starting line-up?

    Queens Park Rangers
    33 Julio César
    02 Simpson
    39 Assou-Ekotto
    36 O'Neil
    06 Hill
    15 Onuoha
    07 Phillips
    17 Barton
    09 Austin (Benayoun - 76' )
    20 Henry (Johnson - 58' )
    03 Traore (Kranjcar - 45' )

    Substitutes
    05 Dunne
    08 Johnson
    14 Onyewu
    19 Kranjcar
    25 Zamora
    26 Murphy

I think there's a misunderstanding, I agree the team is strong too, which is why this is such a poor defeat.
Some people are criticising the lineup though, saying we shouldn't have played as strong a side. I don't agree, I have no problem with us fielding a strong side today, we weren't the only championship club to do it.

Can't disagree with that Kilburn, but i just don't get why we didn't have a go today, we all expected to lose but to do so with apparently no desire, passion, roll over and have our tummies tickled is not good, especially when we put out what was a fairly decent looking side on paper. Where was the motivation that is supposedly Harold's strong point?

I can't understand why he played Austin when he is only just back (too quick) from a hamstring injury especially when offering no threat going forward, should have played Zamora and Johnson for a half each, or play some of the EDS squad to give them some experience. Harold says that Simpson is knackered after playing every minute of every league game but plays him today, give him a rest......

Saturday at Ipswich is not going to be easy, they have improved in recent weeks and Portman Road is not a particually happy hunting ground for us.....can't see any positives from today and it is a missed opportunity to give the younger players a run, at least they would have given it a go today....

Disappointing to lose today but now we can put 100% of our focus on Priority Number 1 #QPR

    Fair enough.

Yes, we're on the same page - our squad selection should have been capable of a much better performance. Sounded like BAE was downright lazy today, whereas Clint Hill & Joey Barton performed. Who knows what might have happened if O'Neill had scored that sitter. Disappointing that our result, in addition to Yeovil's 4-0 over Orient was the most lopsided of all FA Cup games played today.

See, I try to be positive about #QPR sometimes. I really thought they'd put a performance in today & I think team selection reflected that.

Maybe this'll serve to show some of the squad they're not as good as they think they are. I'm sure a couple think they're PL players, above being in the championship. This might've taught them a lesson..?

Today showed what we've known all season. We need to be better all over. Sorry to all QPR fans who travelled up. That wasn't good enough.

I didn't expect a win, but would have loved something to cheer, some minor semblance of positivity, some pride shown like Burnley and Leicester fans have to look upon today. Poor old TF doesn't deserve this. We are only 20 odd league places behind Everton so really should have expected a bit more of the game. Aside from our (non-representative) league position, there has been little true joy this season.

Fcuk TF. As far as I'm concerned he is just as culpable as Hughes, Beard, Redknapp and anyone else you care to mention. Just 'cos he strolls around the ground once in a while and tweets he suddenly becomes a hero. From a business standpoint he allowed successive managers to pursue similar policies in regards to the types of players signed; yes, Kranky, Beayoun etc are loans or short-term deals but too many of that type of player gets you nowhere. Naivety or stupidity - I don't believe he's either but he must bear some responsibility for the direction that Club is heading.

It's the fans you should be concerned about!

Watch the last day of the Ashes series, then today's result won't seem so bad

You're right Husky, Tony is no good for our club and we are far better off without him.
Myself, I would prefer Vincent Tan, as his heart is definately in the right place and is truly a leader of immense stature.

Tony out !!!! Tony Out !!! Tony out !!!!

Don't be so silly. I haven't suggested we get rid of TF. However, when I find a thread stating sympathy for TF I have to wonder what's going on: it's all well and good blaming MH and HR for our woes but, ultimately, TF sanctions everything. It would seem that he's yet to learn his lessons regarding transfer policy and the types of players the Club needs to bring - or indeed the types of persons advising on these matters.
