Definitely disappointed, utterly unsurprised. As soon as they announced the new manager we were beaten.

100% agree. Saw this result coming a mile off even when we went a goal up. Doesn't make it right, far from it, and it speaks volumes about the way we approach the cups.

As soon as I saw Ole was to be appointed in time for this match I knew we were out and the headlines were already written...

Yep, normal service appears to be resumed. We're basically a very, very good first XI but as soon as a couple of more of the "purples" are out, we're a shadow of the side. I haven't seen anything more than a few comments, but it appears Benny's latest attempt at centre stage failed.

Utter gash and all Pardews fault. All he had to do was rest players for the Arsenal game to keep them fresh for WBA and the cup match.

I accept he has been told the cups are unimportant but it wasn't like he was gonna be sacked for ignoring instruction and fielding a strong side.

Its no wonder the fans are pissed off with this disinterest in the cups, it shows a complete lack of ambition. The ambition for money remains strong, the ambition for glory remains as low as ever. ****ers.

 

A complete disgrace, we should be given our money back.

I don't think we are a very, very good first XI to be honest and never have this season. I still think with everyone fit we're as prone to the old nonsense of last year.

Personally I think we're average but in a league of a lot of dross you just need a dab of consistency to string results together, deliberate or luckily, and you'll do ok for points.

I just hope we're not about to watch NUFC's 2014 rendition of 'How much can we spin out reaching 40 points' now until the season's end.
Because let's face it, Ashley WILL sell our better players while the prices are high, he's a businessman and won't wait until their stock falls.

 

My gripes are, why is obertan on the bench never even mind coming on !!!! rather have sammy come on ahead of him

The goals they scored. although it was hit with a lot of power, it seems to be fairly central .
Also S taylors fault for the corner

so people complaining that we should rotate squad. It just shows you , our squad is mince !!

Pardew cant win either way ! rotate squad and get beat easily, people will moan , why change a winning side ? damned if you do , damned if you dont

Yep, I think the only real issue is the sub of Obertan. Such an awful, awful player.

Just read the match report, Ben Arfa hit the post, the crossbar and came close to an equaliser at the end. So, one of those days. Move on, keep the key players fit and win some points.

 

To be fair though, we all know our squad is mince. The point is that our crazy xmas period is unforgiving so you have to rest. Why this game? That's what is frustrating. Arsenal was the game. A home game there was a good chance we'd lose anyway then you are fresher for two more winnable important games.

Did you watch the game, we were deservedly beaten off a team who couldn't beat the mackems from 2-0 up last week.

 

Cardiff deserved it on the day.

Going out to drown my sorrows now.
