In my opinion we've got to make this lad our number one priority in this window, he's bang on form and is scoring goals for fun.
Wickham has 7 in 10 in the championship. Im using that as judgement on Ings. Rhodes is the best striker in that league imo.
Thing is mate, would he suit our tactics? He plays alongside Vokes who is about 6 foot 3 and wins/runs on to a lot of balls knocked on after long punts. He would more or likely play him by himself for us and that's different to what he does now.
Would it work with Altidore as holder/supplier do you think? He seems better at that than putting them away? Just an idle thought.
Id play Borini off Altidore, i think that could be our best pairing. Giaccherini and Johnson wide in a 4-4-2
It could definitely work with that sort of player but I just can't get away with Altidore. He should be on our bench at best.
Jury still out mate. Just wondering if he`d be a better supplier than scorer. I still think there`s a big part for him to play yet mind. (although I`ll be buggered if I know what it is). Who knows what him and a good strike partner could do.
Another one I would be all for but he would need to be given games and a chance of say 5 games in a row for 90 minutes. Not 10 minutes at the end of a match when we are 2-1 down and need a goal.
Ings looks like he has been on the Danny Graham diet, if we signed him he would probably start playing like him as well. We need an attacking midfielder who can pick out the right pass to our forwards, dribble past a few defenders or hit it straight into the top corner. His name is Duncan Watmore
