This is fairly simple: predict your match ups in the semi-final round in the playoffs and try to predict a winner in the games. This will make things a bit trickier as you have to predict two rounds in one go. So here is the playoff picture:

    AFC:

    Indy - Denver, Denver win
    Cinci - NE, Patriots win

    NFC:

    SF - Seahawks, Seahawks win
    Saints - PHI. Eagles win

Am I right in saying that if both Chiefs and Chargers win Chiefs will play Pats and Chargers play Broncos due to the seeding?

Really can see an upset on both games here.

Bengals are an attacking team but I can see this going Chargers way with some potential interceptions and Rivers at QB making some good plays.

With Chiefs if the D and O both turn up they can beat anyone IMO and all the stars were rested last week.

It says that the playoffs are reseeded after each round, so I would have a guess and say no.

    Ok, let's do this!

    AFC

Chiefs v Broncos, Broncos to win
Bengals v Patriots, Patriots to win

    NFC

49ers v Seahawks, Seahawks to win
Falcons v Panthers, Falcons to win

Yeah - Broncos, as the #1 seed, will play whoever the lowest remaining seed is, so if both Chiefs (#5) and Chargers (#6) win then Broncos will play Chargers and Chiefs will play Patriots.

Yep, just noticed it says underneath the logo: Playoffs are reseeded after each round. So the lowest seed is against the highest seed after the wildcard round in both conference semi finals. Makes this set-up of weekly picks a bit impossible. Maybe it works out. Well see.

Here is an article on the whole seeding system: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/02/nfl-playoffs-seeding-problem/

Even in the event of one or both of the top seeds losing there would still be the original order though, for instance; if the Chargers win through to the Conference final they will be the away team whoever they play against.

I read the report by Don Banks, with interest Cove. I see where he is coming from but I think the NFL has it right, you should be rewarded for winning your division. In the past where fewer teams created uneven divisions with some having 5 and some 4 it could have worked. Also under that system would we have as much excitement, as events drew to a climax, as we enjoyed this season and many more in days gone by?

Hey Stan, the round is the semi final for the conference championships, the winners of both conference finals go to the Super Bowl. This is America, everybody get's to be a winner in the playoffs <ok>

You didn't win the Super Bowl? You're still the conference champion! You're not the conference champion? You're still the division champion! You got a wildcard? Wildcards suck!! It's pure logic :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    I'm going for:

    6 Chargers @ 1 Broncos
    5 Chiefs @ 2 Pats

    6 Saints @ 1 Seahawks
    5 49ers @ 2 Panthers

With regards to AFC would love to see Chiefs win it but if not then the Colts or Chargers.

Like to see Panthers take the NFC.

Will there be a new thread for the Divisional round to predict the Conference matchups?

Wouldn't this be better to do on a round basis to make it competitive?

I didn't predict my semi final scores either so where chiefs didn't progress am I locked in on Pats? (As I didn't have Colts advancing)?
