It's a chance for next generation to step up. Ballance, Stokes, Bairstow, Borthwick. Your time has come.
Yes. I lived in Hull for 28 years and have lived in Australia for 47 years. I am Australian by choice and married to an Australian "Dinki-Di" girl whose ancestors came from Country Clare, Ireland in 1805. The England I knew disappeared down the gurgler decades ago. Weren't two England 'cricketers of yore' (Basil D'oliveira and Alan Lamb) born in South Africa? And what about Monty? I saw the light (as did many others) in the 60's and left for the "Land of Milk and Honey" for a better life. Sadly, the "Land of Milk and Honey" is also going down the gurgler as politicians and do-gooders insist on bringing in thousands of unskilled people when there is nowhere near enough accommodation, hospital facilities, education facilities and jobs for them - just good old welfare. Aussie-Aussie-Aussie -Oi! Oi! Oi!
Tony Abbott is a slimy twat and Rudd wasn't much better! The country hasn't had decent leadership since Hawke and Keating. Talking of Hawke, he's still got it http://www.cricket.com.au/video/Former-PM-refreshes-himself
His famous quote of "No Child will be living in poverty by 1990" should have been "No Chinese student will be living in China by 1990"! Good sort, old Bob but the proverbial Labour 'internal squabbling' syndrome brought about his downfall.
You can take the man out of the UK, but you can't take the UK out of the man. This is worse than living in Hull and supporting Manchester United.
I could see why an ex pat who's lived in Oz for years adopting them as a second team. If Australia were playing India then fair play support Australia. To be born and bred an Englishman and then after thirty odd years start supporting another team and even gloat when England are getting beat really isn't anything to be proud of. The opposite in fact.
I am a plastic Liverpool fan and was born and bred in England and also support Australia at cricket so I am double bad. You can boo me at the Test today. You should not be able to miss me as I will be dressed in a "shocking pink" pant suit with matching headwear and will give you a wave!
I have to disagree. If you emigrate to a country you should show support for it. Its giving you the life etc you want. Otherwise dont live there and come home.
I kind of feel for them, don't get me wrong Stokes has done very well, but he hasn't been that amazing domestically and it come very early for him. Borthwick hasn't really been consistent with the ball domestically yet he is our front line spinner and Bairstow hasn't had tons of game time this past year either so i feel sorry for him. They have come in during a nightmare tour, and its hard to learn anything about them. Also AKCJ's i faced 85mph from a bowling machine when we where messing about and i got hit by it and it absolutely killed, so i can feel for them. I knew it wasn't coming above my waist and i stall **** myself.
**** that. So if I moved to Lancashire, do I have to support a team from over that way? Or Scotland, do I then start supporting Scotland? Absolute bollocks.
Australia is my home and where I have made a good living for the past 40-odd years. I would defend Australia with my life. How many of the thousands of immigrants coming into your Country would defend England in case of attack? I will tell you - NONE! It is your choice to who you will support. I still support Hull City because it is where I was born and where I spent 20-odd years before migrating. I support Australia in both Soccer, Cricket and all international sports because Australia is my Country now. A 5-0 WHITEWASH in the Ashes Series shows how superior Australia are.
