How does it prove he was correct? There is no actual evidence of what was said apart from some other guys that work with Clattenburg agreeing with him. It's a bit strange that they have still to bringing in recording yet said they would years ago.

Nothing can be proved out right as there is no recorded evidence. If they had started recording the refs convos like they said they would, this could have been cleared up far earlier.

Must admit I am totally hacked off with comments made without a shred of fact to back them up. What do you think "our" version will actually be? If it is just our word against theirs we won't stand an ice creams chance in hell of getting a decent outcome, and will be open to ridicule for a while until the next stupid thing happens, when the Press will turned their jaded opinions hopefully on someone else. :steam:

It is frustrating but understandable. We'd do it the other way I am sure.

I'm not sure that is really true. Remember we made this complaint, in private, through official channels, and it's only come out now because PGMOL briefed the press with Clattenburg's account. I don't think it's fair or understandable that we are being judged according to that. After all the only official word from the club is that we are not happy with the outcome.

Yep, Saints haven't said anything to the press. The PGMOL on the other hand couldn't wait to run to them.

I meant that we (other fans in general) would give a team some banter if this was another team. Maybe I shouldn't speak for 'we' but I certainly would. It is light hearted banter and part of being a football fan. For those that say they wouldn't and started quoting the rights and wrongs and 'both sides of the story' etc, I'd say "lighten up a little" This is an opportunity for other fans to give some stick/banter.

So Beefy, if this story was about West Ham, for example, you wouldn't give any banter to Trixter?

I'd agree with that, but we have to swallow it and then when/if the story changes, we give it back in spades with smug grins.

I wouldn't bother going on another team's board to wind them up and behave like an arse, but still.....

You read what I said wrong, the stuff posted on here by other teams members can not be classed as banter. Banter is actually funny.

God I hate the modern interpretation of that word. 'Banter' is currently used to describe moronically trying to wind people up in an utterly witless way, though as Beefy rightly says, historically it indicated a modicum of humour.

Kevin Kilbane said that it was a disgrace that Saints complained about this. Martin Keown agreed...

Kilbane and Keown say Saints are a disgrace for pushing this on. Say they hope Lallana isn't instigating it.

They said banter is always used to diffuse situations and there's been far worse said. Breaks a certain trust barrier.
