McGeady would be on a similar level to us signing Hudd IMO as he's easily top 10 material. I also disagree with those saying we don't need a right winger as Elmo is poor when played as a genuine winger, his only real position is RWB. We need somebody to replace Stewart as a tricky right-footed player as we are overloaded with left footers on that wing but have no options on the right.

Well the guy can't defend to save his life*, so I'm not sure how that works. He can cross a ball and that's about it.

*I'm not exaggerating when I say that at least half of our conceded goals have been because of him

Bruce likes him though so the odds of us signing depth/a replacement for ELmo is low.

I think you're wrong. Pre season and first quarter+ of the season no one was saying we needed a right winger more than me. Elmo has hit form and is playing well now, he was awful first quarter of the season. Never left the touch line, never supported, never brought the ball inside and let the fullback overlap. He's found confidence and started playing a more complete and consistent game. But I do still think we need another right footed winger in the mould of brady/aluko so we can switch it up and cut inside from both wings as and when or just have that pacey, skilful trickster on the right. Stewart would almost be perfect due to him accepting being a squad/impact player who probably won't play often, but from what I've seen since his injury both here and at Charlton he's just far too inconsistent and too easy to bully out the game, ie nowhere near up to this level.... Yet....

well mcgeady would be a great signing for the right but he can play on the left too, he's very good two footed but his attitude stinks more than my crotch after 2 weeks of not showering

Isn't he quite predominantly left footed?

he's just as good with both feet, his prominent position for septic was on the right i believe but he's incredibly gifted with both feet

I agree he is dire when at RB, but for a 3-5-2 he has enough energy and strength to play RWB very well

As much as I love Elmo he's only got a finite amount of time left in which he's useful to us, and cover of this type of quality would be amazing.

I know it's strikers we need most urgently, but if the chance of signing a player like McGeady was a genuine possibility, I don't think you pass it up.

This lad would improve us, I don't think there's any doubt.

Agreed, only if it leaves us in a position to sign two quality strikers.

I think we only need one, but players like McGeady aren't available for less than silly money often, you have to take the chance whilst it's there and get them. He would improve us a lot, our current strikers may find chances being put on a plate for them more often, which I think is the biggest problem we have.

Craig ***an was the last decent RW we had until Stewart

How often do you find a defensively able winger though?

Even Robert Pires wasn't noted for helping out if you watch the 'Best of Enemies' doc with Viera & Keane

If we have a budget of, say, £5m, and we have to forego improvements to our striking options to sign him, then I would.

Creating chances isn't our problem - finishing them off is.

Another celtic reject , least he ended up at a big club like Everton . Watched a league cup semi final tonight best player on the park Ki again another Celtic reject . See you fans that support a team that used to have a 3000 / 4000 fan base when out the epl and stuck in the lower division and you think your opinion is important . Notice you've no got a point since I've last been on your board . Hope you get relegated then you can get back to supporting your rugby league team .
