Oh I'm not worried that much, it's just this little cock seems to have something in for anyone against his opinion.

The way he went on on our board, I think he is related to Clattenburg.

A cocky irritant with a clear wish to feel important and that holds his opinion in far too high a regard?

You may be onto something there........

I guess for me, complaining through whatever crappy "official" channels exist is the exactly the right way to handle the situation. I'm not sure Saints' should win on the merits, but the process was correct. I have no problem with that whatsoever. And I'm one that thinks the no handball call was correct. You don't like it, lodge a complaint, the authority hears both sides, issues a clarifying ruling and it's settled.

It should always be done that way, rather than players screaming at referees (and perhaps vice versa) and managers complaining at press conferences (which MP was guilty of doing) and nothing being done about it. It just leads to more screaming and complaining.

We're not the only supporters or team that thinks Clattenburg is a terrible official. How many black marks does Clattenburg have on his record now? They suspended him "for life" and it lasted like, four months. So of course everyone is highly suspect of the guy. So really, it's not helping Clattenburg or the officials by leaving them twisting in the wind-- out there reffing matches where no one quite trusts them. Do a real investigation, issue a ruling and clarify any issues for the future. The way it is now, it's seems like it's perfectly okay for people to scream at each other because "that's human nature" as long as no one you know, actually tries to solve the dispute through some sort of arbitration or appeal to a neutral third party.

My fault, should never have made a sensible reply to his initial post, just gave him an excuse.

This has certainly livened this board up...it has been fairly quiet for the last couple of weeks....some of you must have families and lives. This incident is being used by Saints to highlight a general dissatisfaction with Clattenburg and perhaps our treatment by refs in general....though most clubs have some beef about decisions. Feel for Adam as he would probably not have created a fuss on his own. Think we are getting a backlash because fans of other clubs and the media have got fed up with all our early good publicity. We know from past incidences (banning media, sacking Nigel) that we can ride out the storm.

Am I a bad person that I can see the humour in all the examples on twitter of things that upset Adam Lallana. I know we would all be joining in if it was a player from another team, such as West Ham. I feel sorry for Adam as I feel he is the innocent in this....I doubt he would have made a huge fuss, but it was taken away from him and grew like Topsy. Luckily the first game after it all blew up is at home, so he will get support. I hope he responds to the stick he will inevitably get by playing even better.

Do you mean within the players, or fans with your last statement?

No Fran, that makes you a normal person and not hyper sensitive (ill get crucified for that remark). I'm getting dogs abuse from my mates from other teams, but that's football. All part of the banter.

Not really taking notice of this until more details come out, but I do feel sorry for Adam. I doubt he was really the cause of the complaint and all it has done has turned him into a laughing stock just when he was really on the up in the public eye.

Yes we can ride it out and of course we might even be proved right about this in the end (although I think that's unlikely) but my one small concern about Cortese is these regular PR messes. There just seem to be fairly regular events that make the club look a bit silly. They don't really matter but I think it would be better if they didn't happen.

I don't think we have had that many incidents...all been quiet and positively rosy for a while. Lots of clubs have had far worse things...Cardiff just one example. All that rumpus when Nigel was sacked, then look how many have gone since then. Other managers have come out and criticised refs without going through the proper channels...Mourinho and Rodgers to name two.
