Tatey is a legend here but not good enough for the Prem. Not sure how strong your defence is but Tate won't pull up any trees.

A month ago I'd have said the Sterling deal could be possible but he's starting regular again in the Liverpool side so I don't see this happening. Would really like Zaha on loan and hopefully we can get Ince on a permanent deal, as not only will they add some needed pace, but hopefully they can chip in with a few goals. They could be our new Scott Sinclair's.

Jermain Jones is interesting but then we already have Leon and Canas in that position.
Defo need a striker and winger imo.

That's not why I don't want him here although your point is 100% valid. The guy doesn't want to play for us.

Strange then that Michu came out and told the club to get him.

Competition for our central defenders Chico n Williams would be handy to up their game a bit maybe ?
Not sure who's available or good enough to make them sweat though.

A proven winger that's deadly at crossing on the run would be a real asset too.

Surely Lescott would want first team football to boost his chances of going to the World Cup. It would be worth a punt to try and get him on loan.

Swansea City confirm approach for Blackpool winger Tom Ince
    3 Jan 2014 17:37
Chairman Huw Jenkins says the Swans are keen to land the talented England under 21 international in the January window

Swansea are in for Tom Ince
Swansea City have confirmed they are attempting to lure Blackpool winger Tom Ince to the Liberty Stadium.

The talented England under 21 international has been a long-term target for Michale Laudrup, and the Dane has now made his move with the backing of chairman Huw Jenkins.

Jenkins today confirmed the Swans had contacted Blackpool in recent days as the Swans look to secure the services of one of the Championship's hottest properties.

Ince almost joined rivals Cardiff City in the summer for £8m , but turned the move down despite visiting the club's training ground and agreeing contract terms with former boss Malky Mackay.

A fee of just £4m could now be enough to land Ince, though, with the player's contract due to run out in the summer.

“Tom Ince is a talented player and he is someone we are looking at,” Jenkins said.

“We made an approach in the summer and have done again for this window, but it is up to Blackpool. He is their player.

“If and when there is a possibility for him to leave, then we would be interested," he told the Daily Mail

The Swans could face a battle with Cardiff for Ince's signature, but it remains to be seen whether Vincent Tan would sanction a move for a player who has already snubbed him once.

Jenkins also denied reports linking the Swans with a loan move for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

    Nice one Swan and only.

If this is true I'm glad we're in for him...whether we get Ince or not we should be in for him.

Shows everyone is on the same page. We need goals and assists from the wing, as just about everybody on here agrees, it would seem Laudrup is thinking the same and the board are prepared to back him. Encouraging.

£8m was way too much for a punt on a kid from the Championship who hasn't done it in the Prem.
    £4m is more like it. Not to say he'll prove to be worth £4m, it's always a punt, but consider the following;
    - young
    - England u-21 pedigree
    - came through at Liverpool (one of the 6 clubs who have their pick of Britain's kids)...and they didn't want to let him go.
    - scored regularly at Championship level
    - and is British.....we have to have a core of British players and young British players who can play first team Prem football don't come cheap.

All things considered £4m (ish) seems like a reasonable punt too me.

We face stiff competition but we've made a good decision to make a move and make it early.

Ince is another Sinclair type of player and a steal at £4 million and to much at £8 million. I suspect if we do get him then he will have add ons depending how he does and im fine with that.....we must get some tall defenders in though as we lack any height when we have to defend corners or set pieces and we could do with the height when we have corners also....we don't need anyone else as a matter of urgency until next season..

Which would put us in a win win situation, as should he be successful with us ( should he come), then the bigger clubs a la Utd and Liverpool will be looking to buy him, and would put us in a strong position when you consider Utd paid £15 million for Zaha who still hasn't started a PL game.

Can't see us signing Stirling but I'll take Tom Ince provided his old man isn't allowed over the Severn Bridge - we don't want him sticking his two penneth in. Or would Scotty be better than Tom Ince.............

Agree Dai, we need an old school no nonsense defender. I'd also like a new striker, as Vasquez is terrible.
