Im not convinced we should be signing the back-up striker from an average Championship side. PLus he refused to even speak to us when he was at Rovveram, insisting he wanted to go down south. He made his bed....
Le Fondre is in no way the answer, he's not good enough. He did well goals wise last season, so did Beckford playing the same impact sub role.
I agree we should try to tie up a permanent for Livermore before anything else. Then we could look at bringing in a quality striker on loan possibly with the option to buy if we stay up.
Le Fondre is proof, if proof were needed, that there's a lot more to being a striker than just scoring the most goals.
Speak to any Reading fan and they would warn you off Le Fondre. There is a reason he isnt playing in the Championship. Id be happy with Long, Rhodes or Fletcher. They would probably all cost a similar amount and would score more goals than what we currently have!
What is it we need? I thought it was goals and Le Fondre scores goals - as I said, he would not be the senior signing.
Had a quick look on their form and he doesn't get a mention in their most hated player thread. Guthrie does which is pleasing. Le Fondre is a player who needs to be the #1 striker at the club. If he plays every game he gets you 20 goals. If he is in one week and out the next he struggles. He wouldn't play every game should we look to get him so I wouldn't buy, however, if I was buying a club in the Championship I'd want him to get me the goals for promotion
Why not ? He has a better goal scoring ratio than any of our current players, and presumably can be got at a price that means he would be 2nd striker behind another signing. Crazy not too in my mind if the price is right.
He gets an 11/10 for his finishing ability, and a ****ing 0/10 for everything else. I'd still like him in the team to finish off the many chances we create.
Well you've convinced me and I think you will convince Steve Bruce; 20 goals a season gets him every game.
Look, you don't sign players you don't need. We need ONE decent goalscorer not 2 second rate might-be-ok-let's-take-a-punt types
