Clattenburg isn't snow white but I'm sure there's fault on both sides. Mountains and mole hills come to mind.

Edit: Turns out it was mountains and molehills.

Clattenburg was sick of the whining little ****er jumping in his face every few minutes to complain about everything.

So he said ........ "You are very different now, since you've played for England - you never used to be like this."

Should have twated the little **** instead imo

True. I dont have an issue with players and refs having a go at each other - verbally that is. It used to be a mans game ffs.

Blimey, Lallana will require years of therapy to help him get over that cutting insult.

If that's really all he said, Lallana and Southampton should hang their heads in shame.

...he said something much less offensive.

Yes i hope its a lesson learned for Clatts. Next game he will have to let Lallana treat him like Rooney Cleverly Welbeck etc do. He just didnt do his homework there did he.

Not that I care, but I'd say the fella does tend to seak some attention...

Clattenburg has never been a referee obviously averse to the spotlight. The old adage that a good refereeing performance was an inconspicuous one does not seem to influence his approach. Clattenburg, from beyond the touchline, appears to enjoy sharing a stage with the stars of the Premier League.
Of course, a Premier League referee is not paid as much as the athletes, but Clattenburg enjoys some of the associated lifestyle. Before it was repossessed in 2008, he owned a black BMW X5 with the personalised number plate C19TTS (Clatts).

I hope someone got paid handsomely for the "it's official" pun.

All of these example refer to his refereeing ability. I fail to see how that relates to his personality.

Right. Cos a journalist writes it, it's gospel, is it?

Again, I don't see how this has anything to do with the Lallana incident. Don't get me wrong, personalised number plates are not my cup of tea, but come on... I bet there are one or two folk on here with them!

"Under the circumstances, we do not feel it appropriate for Mr Clattenburg to officiate in any of our matches until this matter is properly resolved."

What would/could they do if Clattenburg was given one of their games?

    Complain I assume.

Everton did a similar thing to Clattenburg 5 years ago, and this Soton match was his first at Goodison Park in that time.

Based on what's released so far, Southampton need to have a lot more to back their position up. As it stands, they don't sound to be getting much support from other managers.

    Early days I guess?
