Report on Independent site that we and Everton are interested - he's at Spartak Moscow but has fallen out with manager. £2.5 being quoted with him taking a pay cut to get out of Russia. We may (or may not!) have the advantage over Everton in that we could offer first team football rather than a squad slot.
I'd take McGeady in a shot. At the right price. Personally I think we need someone who runs at people. Another I'd look at is Tom Ince.
No thanks. We have Brady, Aluko, Boyd and Elmo who can play wide. We don't need him, besides he's made it in Scotland and in Russia. Hardly testing leagues
He's a great player, maybe a little unrealistic. If we have ideas of being a top 10 team, he is the sort of player we need. Hopefully the Everton link is just agent talk and we are the sole suitors.
Think Sky said the other day that he's definately leaving Russia for England this month. He's not even been allowed to train things are that bad between McGeady and Spartak i think.
he fits into a 4-4-2 as a genuine winger but he's not really a wing back in a 3-5-2 is he? I agree with this ^ though as too often we get into good wide positions then turn back inside.
I mentioned him a few weeks ago. (http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/241591-Aiden-McGeady - sadly that twat tubby/yannicksagbo ****ed about in the thread) I can see us having the advantage in terms of giving him more first team football and the Irish contingent, but Everton have the money. You haven't seen him play then, as he's better then all of those. Also, you cant really say the other 4 you mentioned really played in testing leagues before being with us, can you?
Good player, but it's a striker we need and we have sufficient quality already out wide: hence why we create ****loads of chances but don't convert them.
First of all you seem to be basing your view of him on a sweeping generalisation rather than specific judgement of his abilities. Second, none of the four you mention made any impression in a top flight other than Scotland before this season.
He's referring to a trick McGeady has named after him. It's just a modified version of the 'marseille spin' (that one that Zidane always did)
