Great news. An outstanding talent. If he can stay fit adds enormously to our attacking threat. So pleased for him...and us!!
contract aside, its positive news that he is on the mend. Hopefully will feel like a new signing come the end of the January transfer window and he is playing.
Probably not, we are mostly after another striker, the attacking mid rumours were probably a backup plan.
He's arguably our best player when he plays, this is a great piece of news. I'd rather have him in our team rather than an opponents.
Ability wise he is probably our second best player behind Thudd, and is by far our most exciting and unpredictable player, who was our main source of goals and creative play when fit. I'm very happy. I don't see why any City fans wouldn't be.
I am only not happy if it isnt appearanced based. He has had a stomach surgery and 3 achilles surgerys. There is almost no chance that in that 2 and a half year contract that he plays more than 1 and a half years. Aluko is the defenition of injury prone.
I said arguably. As Macca said, he's our best attacking player. I agree that Hudds and Davies are better, but they've had more chance to show it. Hudd, Davies and Aluko are our best three players, with Livermore very close too.
Meyler had two serious cruciate ligament injuries at Sunderland, which kept him out for 18 months altogether, and he's been fine in the year he has been here. Just because injuries have occurred in the past doesn't mean they are certain to reoccur.
I think players like Aluko are a rare breed, and the more of his type of player we have, the better. He's been unlucky with injuries, but that doesn't mean he always will.
Aluko isnt Meyler. Aluko hasnt been fine since his injury days up north. Aluko has already had 2 surgeries since he has been with us. Not to mention all the lay up time inbetween the injuries and the surgeries (not that trying to play through it was his fault). All I am saying, is that his contract needs to be APPEARANCED based. Anyone who disagrees with that is thinking with blinders on.
Great news, one of those players who when he has the ball can get the whole ground buzzing.I have lost count of the number of times I have said to myself after some of his trickery "how the hell has he done that". If we had offered him a deal based on appearances I believe he would have been off in summer, with no transfer fee involved I don't imagine he would have have had any difficulty finding another club.
