What a bunch of ****ing babies. Refs get so much **** from players during the course of a game, but the minute one gives a bit back they're whining to the FA. I like the idea that a ref can tell a player screeching for a penalty to shut up and get on with the game in no uncertain terms. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southampton-make-mark-clattenburg-complaint-2982213
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have complained if he just said "Shut up"... Clattenburg is a dick who always tries to be the centre of attention.
In the same way that he racially abused the Chelsea player? He's a dick? I must apologise; I didn't realise you knew him personally. To be honest, if he'd said "Shut the **** up you whining ponce" I would still have defended him
No need to be a sarky twat. No I don't know him personally. It's ****ing clear to see he's an attention seeking prat.
You would think Southampton are going struggle to come out this looking good. Results have dipped, maybe their heads are going a bit too. Best to crack on, lads.
Sorry. Didn't realise sarcasm would upset you so much. I'll bear it mind for the future. How is telling a whining player to shut up "attention-seeking", then?
Prattenburg is a terrible ref who has had several conentious issues surrounding his dealing with players. Not going to support him in this. Refs are there to officiate and not much more, no scope for abusing players, otherwise what authority do they have to punish players for abusing each other?
Sarcasm doesn't upset me. You just were using for no reason other than to attempt to insult me. Clearly he didn't tell him to shut up, as refs tell players to shut up all the time when a decision doesn't go their way. He's obviously said something worse than that, otherwise Soton would not be bothered at all.
I am not particularly a fan of Clattenburg, but I feel he probably has done nothing wrong in this situation. All referee's get abuse, 95% of time unfairly. If Soton have been screaming at him and he has told them to FOOK OFF in no uncertain terms, then I don't have a problem with it. On loads of occasions I have seen Phil Dowd give players a stern talking too, giving as good as he gets and nobody seems to have a problem with him. I feel its just a club feeling sorry for themselves and think that complaining about an already integrity questioned referee (chelsea incident) will get them somewhere, or some sympathy for poor results. I do not see Soton coming out of this good. The FA will back the referee, and rightly so. did I mention I think clattenburg is a nob.
Are you related to Clattenburg? I'm saying that Clattenburg's reputation precedes him and he likely did do something wrong. I'm not trying to defend Southampton.
Clattenberg thinks he's the man ever since he had that hair transplant. When he was a slap head he wouldn't say boo to a goose. Now he thinks he's ****ing Chuck Norris.
I think that's exactly the point though. I have a lot of time for Dowd as a ref because he commands a lot of respect but doesn't hold himself above the players. Clattenberg has now had several complaints about the way he deals with players, so clearly it's him doing something wrong and not the players being precious, or they'd complain about all refs.
Fair enough. Lot's of reference to Clattenburg's reputation so far. I'm just saying that the reputation of professional footballers for being whining ****s who regularly fail to show respect to officials should precede Lallana too. Works both ways.
So you are suggesting that Lallana has a reputation as 'whining ****' because of other players? Nice logic there.
I see where you are coming from, it is certainly not the first 'abuse' incident he has been involved in. this is always going to look bad. It is likely that he has said something, and probably abused and overstepped his position as a referee. however, I do feel the a human element has to be taken into account also. Additionally, I do think that each incident has to be weighed up on its own merits. He was found not guilty regarding the chelsea incident. I am not saying he did not do it, but Chelsea had lost and had 2 people sent off. They are as big of cry babies as anyone when they don't get to roll over every team.
