I did suggest it, don't know if I believe it, thought I would test the water to see what others felt about it, I think in the actual Match thread at the time, there were some that predicted that if we lost the game it could set doubts in the teams minds, were they right? As I said purely hypothetical, but worth consideration.
Fair enough. They must have just put it out their minds for the Hull game and thought about it again the following week
If anything the team may have had a rocket and responded by taking it out on Hull! That was one of my favourite games of the Season and at the time someone was due to be on the end of a pasting, they were the unfortunate victims, wish it would happen more often..
All of the great Saints teams had a Welshman in the side so I would say a Welshman is an essential ingredient to a successful side and has nothing to do with tokenism.
It was a good atmosphere, but i've tried to erase the actual match from my memory too. (not as successfully as you). I want a cup run too as our league season is effectively over already, but I think we can beat a weakened Burnley with a handful of 1st teamers.
If Gallagher, Reed and Isgrove all play I'll be really happy to be honest. I can't understand people wanting to risk our whole first team after such a busy schedule and with so many already injured. This seems like a perfect opportunity to blood youngsters, give reserves game time and to 'regroup' after the poor/tired second half. Also rest up those that have been drifting in and out of fitness contention. If Burnley win, I will genuinely shrug. This is our best league start in years, and we have to try and build on it. Just because the top 6 have pulled away, doesn't mean we can't catch them back up, we should definitely focus on this. I would rather a European away day next season than going out to a top 4 team in the FA CUP!
If we only win one of our next ten (see as last 10 record), then our league season will be long from over. Win 6 or 7 of our next ten and again it's not over.
I would rather a European away day next season than going out to a top 4 team in the FA CUP _______________________________________ Thursday night football would cause us a lot of problems. I think we'd need another season of growing the squad before we could even contemplate the stress that would put on the team.
Its possible. After seeing fox's inept defending poor young Luke spiralled into a deep depression fuelled by alcohol and a lethal synthetic drug from Prague known as 'cake'. Lovren watching as hoiveld struggled to clear a low cross felt his lust for life disappear into the ether and decided once his contract is up to simply retire from football and retrain a chartered surveyor. Boruc looked on in horror, like a peeving Welshman, and lamented the ravages of age as he saw Davis beaten at the near post.
This could be thier only chance to start a game this season. If we get knocked out they are unlikely to start a league game this season, and if we win the next round draw will more likely be a much harder game
My overiding memory is of claus grabbing henry's shirt in full view of 70,000 people, & henry staying on his feet thus saving claus from a certain red card. Loved henry after that despite him being a) french, & b) a gooner
I don't care what anyone says, Jesus Perez' press conference's are so much better than Pochettino's. Miles easier to understand the answer, and he does it in half the time.
Weather forecast is good for the game, the Club are worried that there will be loads of walk ups and that they may get swamped with last minute sales, well the latecomers have been warned, no good complaining if you miss the start, if you are going, get your ticket early.
If we don't play most of our first team, we will lose or get a replay (which I'm sure no one wants). Our youngsters might play very well if they get a league chance with the first team, but will struggle in a patchwork team against a good Championship side. Bah humbug.
