How forest can sack Billy Davis is unbelievable the guy took over a struggling side and has turned them into a good championship side.
Football gone mad, or forest truly think they are bigger than their current position in the football world.
The chairman will have some questions to answer if they do not hit the playoffs this year.

Well said mate i couldn't put it better myself, wouldn't be so shocking if they had a first class replacement but the appointment of Steve McClaren has made us a joke club the sooner he gets the sack the better. The board couldn't have made a worse appointment if they tried! Good luck to your club next season.

I hope somebody tells him to dump that umbrella!
Judged by the yardstick used to appoint Billy Davies, a manager proven at this level what are we now to deduct by the actions of the board [Doughty] ?
That policy has obviously been dumped because Maclaren has no experience at this level, never mind a proven record.
I predict that Doughty has activated a ticking time bomb, lets see where the team are at Christmas. However I will nail my colours to the mast and say we will not finish in the top six, which could possibly unleash a tidal wave of discontent amongst Forest Supporters. The two most difficult managerial positions in the Championship have to be Leeds United and Nottingham Forest F.C. one could advance a convincing argument that Forest [ given the board] is the most difficult job outside of the Premiership.

Davies was a proven bottler and caused havoc with chairmen wherever he went. It's hardly a shock that he's been sacked after the amount of money he's spent.

And I can't believe these comments "Steve McClaren has made us a joke club the sooner he gets the sack the better. The board couldn't have made a worse appointment if they tried!" and "Maclaren has no experience at this level, never mind a proven record". Look beyond the shilly accentsh for a second and check his record out and he's only ever done a really bad job at Wolfsburg. Sven at Leicester proves that ex-England managers have a host of contacts who are willing to play for them even if they've been publicly derided, and McLaren has always been praised for his coaching.

Shortsighted fury from the Forest fans who always seem to believe the media perception, but then again that doesn't come as a surprise.

Well i must say you have lost the best manager in the championship just like we did,Mclaren is a good number 2 having had experience with him as well i think our man Davies will go to Cardiff and be a success if he doesnt keep going back to scotland!!!

    McClaren is a good signing.
Never understood why he took stick for using an umberella in the rain, that is what an umberella is for.
Like many he failed in the England job but at club level he has a decent track record.

He still had a 50% win rate as England manager too, which is bad but hardly awful. I doubt many other Championship managers would be able to achieve the same successes.

That's the problem. Nottingham Forest should be a Premier League side.

Davies is small time, forever having to punch above his weight. Hasn't got the gravitas for the Premier League, as he proved at Derby.

Why should they be a PL side? They have not proved themselves good enough to get promoted.
Such a statement, and I am guessing based on past glories, only goes to prove you are still living in the past.

Before Brian Clough took charge, Forest were a mid table 2nd division side, just lower than where you currently are.
When he left Forest, the slide back to where you came from began and they have never looked like getting back.
Accept where you are and if gets better enjoy while you can but it highly unlikely Forest will be the team they once were.

I hate to admit it but Thai is right, if we should be back in the PL then we would be there already. Fact is were not, we have to content ourselves for the time being as being a decent championship outfit which is no bad thing at all. Lets face it if you have asked us 4 seasons ago would we be happy where we are now I can't imagine there would be to many of us who wouldn't be.

I don't want to speak for him, but he might be basing it on Forest's current Premiership-sized fanbase, good away crowds, etc. rather than anything to do with the past.

It hasn't surprised me, this sacking of BD, was half expecting it, but what I wasn't expecting was you signing Steve McClaren, not one of my favourite managers, and when he brought his FC Twenty to the Liberty last season, he was clueless on the side lines as we played them of the park under Sousa, might I add, Swansea City 3-1 FC Twenty, guy does nothing for me, hope your board know what they are doing, some will say he did a great job at FC Twenty, but all I will say to that is big deal! Guys a loser, though hope I'm wrong for your sakes...................

I'm not a Forest fan. I just think it's too long since they were in the PL, and that Davies wasn't the man to take them there.
