Yeah, Macca just posted it in the shopping list thread. I think he'd be a great signing and may have the impact he had at Sunderland when he first moved. If he stayed fit.

I think as he's Scottish (born in Shrewsbury but brought up in Scotland) he'd prefer the Celtic option. Particularly as it would guarantee him a few medals in the SPL.

With grammar like this "Leap of faith: Steven Fletcher may be forced to take a pay cut if he leaved Sunderland for Hull" I'd take it with a pinch of salt, just rehashed from the other week.

I don't think you could do any better for £6m but his recent injury record and loss of form is worrying and wonder if that money could be better spent on someone else who's less likely to be missing and more likely to have an instant impact? I just have Jimmy Bullard in my head, it's a lot to spend if he gets injured straight away and we end up going down. Guess its the same gamble with anyone anyway though, no one knows what will happen tomorrow.

I would hate the thought of paying £6m for him. I would rather try Long, McCormack, Ings or Rhodes.

surely the fact that it says atletico are interested makes it a tad silly

I'm only surprised it's not Real Madrid. He's world class...apparently.

Very strange team to bring up, could've picked any prem team or some weird turkish side rather than atletico

    Dear Mr. Allam

It appears there are a number of footballers, none of top quality who are available for a fee of just 10 times the lifetime earnings of the average fan plus an additional 3 times that in wages.

The funding of these ordinary footballers for many millions of pounds of your own money is a fantastic opportunity for you to show your commitment but please be aware you are nothing more than a temporary custodian of our great club.

    Thanks in anticipation..............

Rather we go for Rhodes at the 8.5 mill than buy Fletcher for 6 mill.

Rhodes will be cheaper than that, considering we've just given them a player and their financial situation isn't as rosy as it seems.

I can see them accepting £6m for him. Maybe less if he hands in a request.

Agreed Jezza. Keeping him is top of the priorities atm.

Samaras ain't up to PL, Le Fondre didn't really shine..

    What are Rhodes' main attributes?

Look at the goal return from Le Fondre. His price would be right and his experience and style fits. As one of two strikers coming in, I think he's a no-brainer if possible.

Fletcher on-song is great, look how he galvanised his team against Cardiff; injuries are a concern. One thing is for sure, he has more in the locker than Graham. His injury record is a concern, as he would be the senior signing.

As others have suggested, I would opt to try and get Livermore on a perm. this would free other options via loans for possibly better strikers with no risk should the worst happen and we go down.
Fletcher unfortunately is not in the best of form and I do not believe he is an better than what we have, he once was, but not anymore. Maybe its due to the way Sunderland play but I don't think he is worth the risk at that price.

Plus he is made out of sugar paper.
