That's bullshit that. They'll want someone of top 4 quality. Also the rumours suggested £4m. WBA wanted £6m off us.
They money mentioned seems small for sure. We shall see, but there have been lots of reports of it over the last couple weeks so I wouldnt right it off to easily.
There have been a lot of articles about Samaras to us, but Brucey laughed them off as rubbish. We're the bookies favourites ahead of Spurs. Don't look into Spurs being after him at all.
I don't think; A) Spurs want him, they don't seem to be struggling for goals or results at the minute. They'd look for a higher quality player. B) Long would want to go there and play second fiddle. He knows how much we want him considering what happened in the last window.
Le Fondre stating he'd look to move elsewhere in January. He's scored wherever he's been and is just the kind of tricky, nippy 'right place right time' striker I think we need.
7 goals in 15 games. No idea how he's actually been playing though. Would still prefer Ings or Rhodes.
7 goals from 17 games, just 9 of which are starts and 8 coming on as sub. Ings, McCormack or Le Fondre, I'd be ok with any of them but Rhodes would leave us with hardly any change from our suggested budget.
Aye, not a bad return. Ings and Rhodes would come with a much larger price tag though. I saw your comment about us missing a trick in not involving Cairney in the Rhodes deal. You never know, we may have negotiated something with Blackburn which may grant first refusal/£600k off etc. I hope so anyway.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jake-livermores-tottenham-hull-transfer-2980992 Come on Sherwood, don't go being a twat now and rejecting a deal...
Can he? If it is contracted, does he have the option? I know he can influence Jake, but can he influence the deal?
Here are some left-field options - most of whom are probably out of our reach, to be fair. All of them are out of contract this summer. Martin Montoya - talented Barcelona right-back who has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs for January. He has been utilised by the Catalan side this season, but his contract runs out at the end of the season and Barcelona seem in no hurry to renew it. Tiago - Atletico de Madrid midfielder who has had experience at many of Europe's top sides. Seen as a safe man to have in the centre of the park, Tiago's contract is expiring soon and he could be a useful purchase - perhaps on a two year contract (given his age). Miroslav Klose - Really don't need to say anything about this man, top class striker. Diego Milito - Inter Milan striker now at the grand old age of 34, says he will most likely move back to his home country of Argentina to play out his twilight years, but could be a useful purchase for a few of the Premier League's lower table clubs - if they can afford his wages. Urby Emanuelson - AC Milan winger with international experience for Holland. Has been playing fairly regular football for Milan this season, but had a taste of Premier League action with Fulham and has admitted he'd like to play again in England. Esteban Cambiasso - Inter said he would accept ANY contract offered to him, contract runs out at the end of June. Previous talks broke down. Tomas Rosicky - He’s been at Arsenal for nearly eight years now, and had his contract extended in 2012. It runs out in June 2014 but he could be offered a one or two year extension by Wenger. The return of Flamini has seen him fall down the pecking order though. Tom Ince - We all already know about this one. Definitely a talent worthy of the Premier League. Ola Toivonen - The Swedish midfield danger-man is currently playing for PSV, but he has been linked numerous times with a move to the Premier League. Norwich, Arsenal and Newcastle are the frontrunners. His contract runs out at the end of June. Finally... Andrea Pirlo - I can dream, can't I?
Well Sherwood threatened recalling him, but either he couldn't or he's happy with how the midfield has performed under him.
Good return, but you've got to wonder why they don't consider him good enough to start more games. Don't know why but I've just never really rated him.
Bradford's chairmen saying a couple of prem clubs interested in Wells; "Bradford City chairman Mark Lawn has told Sky Sports News Radio that striker Nahki Wells is attracting interest from a couple of Premier League clubs and they have received a fresh offer. There has been speculation linking Sunderland, Huddersfield Town, Leeds United and Celtic with a move. Find out more by listening to the interview." SSN list Sunderland as one, I wonder who the other one is?
Same. I think he contributes nothing to the team but finishing. Like a reverse-Graham. Not a bad thing I know, but most strikers do other things, such as winning the ball, passing, pressing, etc.
We have pressers we have passers we have ball winners what we are lacking is a poacher/clinical finisher.
