QPR fan in piece. Firstly I can only look on in admiration at what you have achieved in the prem and I hope you keep improving. I find myself getting annoyed when I see Pochettino still giving press conferences in Spanish he can speak English so why doesn't he? Do you think your manager should make the effort like every other foreign manager does ?

I have absolutely no problem with Pochettino speaking Spanish. He doesn't have to speak English if he doesn't want to.

He needs to start speaking English now. He's been here nearly one year and to not even attempt it is quite ignorant. Plus, his excuse for not speaking English is pretty daft.

I'm absolutely fine with Pochettino speaking Spanish as long as he wants to.

I'm fine with it. Can't see why it would bother what language comes out of his mouth, it's not like we don't get information from him. In fact, we get more information now than we did when we listened through Adkins' cliche-ridden interviews.

and me. Avoids any misunderstandings. Look at Mancini last season several times the press twisted hiis words.

Not just the misunderstandings, but allows him to deliver thought out and complex answers, rather than "at the end of the day" bollocks. I have no problem with it.

We've all grown to love the interpreter by now, but in all seriousness, yes I do think he should start doing at least some interviews in English soon. He can still have the interpreter there to make sure he understands the question and prompts him for any vocab or whatever he's not sure about.

I don't really care but I still think he could keep the interpreter around, give some short answers in English and switch to Spanish when he wants to give a more complex response.

I don't give a monkeys. Wouldn't bother me if they didn't do any press conferences. I usually find then pretty dull anyway. The journalists are fairly un imaginative with the questions and the managers give stock answers.

What he does with the team is all I'm really worried about.

I think there's a difference between press conferences, where journalists don't really care if the answers are through an interpreter, and interviews given to for example, the BBC (which is the source, after all, of all these fans asking why he doesn't speak English). Bearing in mind those interviews are generally only a couple of minutes long, it would be nice if Pochettino could say a few words in English and then give a more detailed press conference through an interpreter if he wants to.

Nah, at this point I'd much rather he continue to annoy the people who think he should be speaking English. If I was him, I'd like to learn a different language, like French, and start giving answers in that. Just to take the piss. And have two translators with him; one to translate the French into Spanish, and one to translate the Spanish to English.

I have absolutely no problem with Pochettino doing interviews and press conferences in Spanish. As journalists have said they get a better answer when translated because he has time to think about the question and respond with an in depth answer. The one thing that I thought would be a good idea was that he could speak English in his Saintplayer interviews he does, just so us Southampton fans can hear what he has to say away from the national media.

I am literate in English and expert in Giberish, otherwise on line translators are the next best thing.
