Well the window is now open.

Wonder if RB/SC are discussing any signings or loan deals? Trevor Carson has signed to the end of the season, still on loan.

I doubt if any of the players on longer contracts will be got rid of, but 3 or 4 contracts are up this month.

No rumours are surfacing so far and no doubt RB will keep his cards close to his chest - hopefully though this month might see the appearance of a decent spine to the team.

    Here's the first one! <ok>

Pompey will today complete a loan deal for Swansea’s Daniel Alfei.

The 21-year-old right-back will be Richie Barker’s first Blues recruit as he seeks to revamp his squad.

With Danny East currently sidelined with an ankle injury, Yassin Moutaouakil out-of-favour and Joe Devera effective in the centre of defence, Alfei has been targeted to step in.

The Welsh under-21 international has not played first-team football this season – but previously made four appearances for the Swans, as well as spending two loan spells with Wrexham.

Writing on Twitter last night under @DanielAlfei35, he said: ‘Long journey but finally arrived down South.. #NewChapter’

Should be a good signing, although not been featuring in the first 11 any player from a prem club will bring confidence and skill, as seen with young Potts who I was hoping would stay.............

Believe the Cherries signed him from Havant & Waterlooville where he was a fan's favourite.

Currently out of favour with Eddie Howe. Could be the midfielder we need.

Dan burst onto the scene in the FA cup a few years ago, winning MOTM in a couple of our games there and a lot of people thought he'd be a first team regular soon. It's not really happened for him since then, mostly because the Prem is a scary place for an inexperienced kid, but also because we signed Dwight Tiendalli, who is absolute sh*t but Laudrup prefers using him to cover Angel Rangel rather than anyone good.

There's still some hope that he could force himself into the reckoning here at some stage, but he needs games. Hopefully it'll work out to be a good loan for him, you and us.

Thery Racon has extended his Pompey contract until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old midfielder returned for a second spell at Fratton Park in October, signing a short-term deal.

But the Frenchman will now stay for the remainder of the campaign, having already made 10 appearances this term.

Racon said: “I’m very happy to be here for the rest of the season and now I can fully focus on my football and helping Pompey to climb the table.”

With one win in 9 matches, you could be right........

Still, it's better than 1 win in 12 though, isn't it? And if you lose half of your recognised 1st XI like we have for significant periods you always have that fine youth team of yours to call upon........

Yes, but according to your manager Maurice, you still have your team full of young good looking players, don't you ? <whistle><laugh>

Jake Jervis is back on Pompey's radar, while John Sullivan has been sent out on loan to Cambridge until the end of the season. Good, he needs to get a lot of games in.

I can't imagine that Sullivan is one of the high earners. We probably have a recall clause in the loan deal, that's normal practice.

I don't think it's a done deal, Carson was getting nervous about staying as Richie Barker had let him go from whatever club it was that he was managing at the time.

Not too concerned that John Sullivan has gone on loan - let us hope Cambridge win promotion back to the Football League and want to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

If we could offload Phil Smith as well, perhaps we could bring back someone like Alex Cisak on loan from Burnley to give Trevor Carson some decent competition.

Would love to see us finally sign Jake Jervis - really think he could be the answer to our lack of goals.

If we do sell Adam Webster, then that would be bad news - unless we get a really good fee for him. He is a real gem.

about right from what I was told......sullivan is under contract but does not feature in RB's plans as of yet..........so it makes good sense to get him out playing, Cambs are paying his wages as it falls with in their available structure and YES there is a clause to recall him in an emergency so we dont have to have another keeper on the books...........

I think we'll almost see a one in one out approach based on the sensible money approach - which so far stacks up - a colleague who is a Jack speaks highly of Alfei so hopefully we get games in before his loan expires. I'm of the feeling we may lose Super Jed this month - just hope the money is good.
