You were the better team by a mile today, we wasn't at the races. Huddlestone had his worst game of the season which meant the fluency of our game was lacking thus the direct balls. Ignore the kid saying we dominated the first 20 minutes and so on. Suarez's "goal" was offside though, for the person saying he wasn't. It's amazing how you defend Suarez, he is an amazing player, probably top 3 in the world at the minute. But he ain't half a **** on the pitch. I've heard nothing but good about him off it and around the younger players. Alas, good luck for the rest of the season, I hope you, Everton (sorry) or Spurs keep Man Utd out of the Champions League spot.
I think that's what Steve Bruce (and his massive fat head) said to his players before he sent them out today
Yes we were the better side throughout the game. As Rodgers said in his post-match interview we were not at our most fluent and we should have scored probably 3 more goals than we did - and had we done that the score would not have flattered us. As for Suarez we will continue to defend him when he comes in for the kind of treatment that was dished out by your side today. However, the major part of our ire is reserved not for players of lesser skill but for the officials who have a responsibility to ensure that those who break the rules are punished appropriately.
I'm not defending our tactics today, but in both of the games we have played you, Suarez has struggled so something is working! Suarez is always going to be targeted due to his reputation and mainly due to his skill. He's a great player who is very tricky and almost unplayable if given space and freedom. There were only a couple of challenges on his today that were over the top. Most of them were firm, but not dangerous.
Exactly the point, dave. People can come on here and say Suarez is a twat and deserves what he gets or whatever, but it isn't the job of referees to set themselves up as some sort of Star Chamber. If they see a foul it's their job to call it- anything else is corruption.
Okay, so the shoe is on the other foot. What about Skrtel, he wasn't bad today. But every game I watch him play, he is pulling people's shirts and basically wrestling with them in the box. As you lot so readily want justice and correct decisions, should you be punished? You'd concede at least a penalty each game! Suarez isn't the only player who is treated like this and Liverpool aren't whiter than white.
I believe that your definition of 'firm' is at odds with what the laws of the game actually allow for. A tackle does not have to be dangerous to be a foul tackle. If a tackle is actually found to be dangerous then it should result in a red card. However, as saint and I agree our anger is with the officials who are not doing their job properly.
Many of us on here have been frequently critical of Skrtel's shirt-pulling and would accept it if he got caught out doing it. However, you still seem to be missing the point: it's not about whether or not Suarez is perceived to be a bad lad, it's about the duty of the officials to treat everyone fairly, regardless of reputation or their personal opinions.
But you still haven't answered the question I asked? Shall I break it down into lickle ickle bits for you?
I totally understand. The officials should be impartial, but the fact is, they're human. The same way they are influenced by the fans at the larger clubs, Januzaj was booked today when he was actually fouled, all because of his reputation. Opinions are in the game and there is a reason why Suarez has his reputation, right or wrong. We can't eliminate the referees opinions from the game, unless we treat them like jurors, or use computers!
Which is also incidentally what I said when you're banned from our board (mum jokes are so thick btw) Like to say its been nice knowing you but you're always grateful to wipe that dog **** off your shoe sunshine TTFN laddy
You're right, and we're always going to see these incidents from our own, partial points of view so it's probably best that we leave it here. I have no problem with Hull and wish you well for the rest of the season. As for CB's comments: we have been taunted by morons for years with the "victim" stuff and it's in reference to the victims of Hillsborough. Banter and name-calling are part of football supporters' armoury and we know that, but it's a game- using a tragedy to score a point is a step too far.
Just finished watching the game; Cissokho's best game yet, clean sheet, three points, Gerrard's back and Suarez got back on the scoresheet after his two game draught. Ref was very poor and thats the third game in a row for us.
Yeah, I'm surprised by you lot this season. I think you'll cover one of the 4th-6th spots. I heard a rumour that Suarez's new contract held a clause that allowed him to talk to Barca/Real if they made an offer? As for us, I'd snap your hand off for a 10th-14th place, as would most of our fans. I hope we can. See you next year!
