Yeah they did... Sadly just missed out on about £100 from the void matches but then may not have won.

Anyway back to the Football it SOUNDS like we deserved at least the draw and that Attwell as well as ignoring a penalty for us, gave a soft penalty to Ipswich (words from the Ipswich commentator)...

It'll be interesting to see how Sordell did but again sounds like we were unlucky with him being taken off with a hamstring injury, whilst their goal was scored with yet another deflection (OG), its nice to see it going our way too as apparently Jacko's goal was a huge deflection.

Seems as well that Powell made the right substitutions (although surprising that Cook came on for Sordell)

Good point. Looks like the bottom three are beginning to get cut adrift. Our loss that never was to Donny is looking very significant at the moment.

Pritchard and Hamer aren't playing, so someone else has to get slated.

Apparently a section of our fans have been very unkind to sordell regarding his torn hamstring. I've been underwhelmed by him, but never understand taking to twitter to abuse someone.

Not a great performance by any means, but one that merited a point.

Ipswich were nothing special, but are a better team than we are. Their best move lead to their goal, which was unfortunate for Wood. They sat back in the second half, presumable thinking they could do what they did to us at The Valley, which they nearly did. But didn't :D

Cousins was our best player today, Alnwick's penalty save notwithstanding. Stewart was frustrating, and I'll reserve judgement on the penalty/dive until I see it. At any rate he should have got a shot off by then. Sordell wasn't too bad but that is judging him by quite low expectations. Kermorgant had a better game today, even if we still struggled to create clear-cut chances. Defensively Wood looked a bit dodgy (even allowing for his misfortune with the own goal) but the rest were fine. Having Solly and Wiggins back helps so much, both with defensive solidity and attacking prowess.

I was confused as to why Powell brought Jordan Cook on rather than Church, but he worked quite hard even though he is limited technically, and underhits passes something chronic. Powell then got the subs right, as shown by Church setting up Jacko for the equaliser. I can't remember Jacko doing anything else, but I don't care.

The ref seemed determined to penalise us every time we had a corner, yet never once gave a foul against Ipswich when they had one. We may have had a let off with the early non-penalty for Ipswich but got little else throughout the rest of the game.

Overall, I'm satisfied with a point. 5 from the Christmas period is about par for the course.

Nice one, CB. Cook sounded lively from the commentary, so it's always better to get a perspective from the guys who were there.

Did it help having Stephens back in the middle?

Yes, definitely. He and Cousins have a decent partnership going now and it showed today (plus, it helped that there was grass on the pitch rather that mud). Powell did put Stephens on the left when Jacko came on, which seems odd, but by then Wiggins was getting forward all the time so having another creative player on that side probably helped.

Not just the fans, according to the commentators. Sordell was clearly in a lot of pain yet no-one from Charlton went to help him off, when what he really needed was a stretcher. They sounded quite shocked.

Yeah, I think that sucks. It has'nt worked out with Sordell, but if someone goes on Twitter celebrating that Sordell has been injured, it says more about them than Sordell. Probably says a bit about Twitter too.

The second half yesterday was a timely reminder of why we love the Club !

The turning point was Alnwick's terrific save from the penalty, plus the mounting frustration amongst our travelling support and players at a refereeing performance from young Stuart Atwell of truly horrific incompetence (against both teams).

Performance wise, the big difference for us yesterday was the quality of our full backs, particularly Wiggins. They both gave Premier League standard performances and most importantly got forwards and got behind Ipswich a number of times. It proves that CP sides CAN do it with a positive attitude on a decent pitch!

For those who were not there, great scenes when Jackson equalised in the 90th min, Batman and Robin in the Charlton end got overexcited and the whole team celebrated wildly in front of our fans. Great stuff.

A word of praise too for the Ipswich groundsman, the pitch took a belting from heavy rain through the whole 90 mins but was still different class to our cabbage patch.

Proud of our lads yesterday <ok>

    Yep <ok>

The current group of players are a great bunch of lads in the main. They really did us proud yesterday. It was worth being there just to experience the elation when JJ scored in the 90th min, and the players ran over in front of us to celebrate.

You possibly experience a similar sensation when you are feeling fruity ...and Skippy pops out from behind a bush?
