He just said they were going to make sure Brady was fully fit before he plays again, as in suggesting they rushed him a bit before.

    That was it.

Nothing funny in it at all.

Brady was rushed back far too soon. Playing just 2 weeks after his operation. The deceptive thing is it's keyhole surgery so there's hardly a wound externally but internally his body will be suffering a lot from the trauma of the operation.

I had the most straight forward and simple hernia op a few years ago. I was told to have complete rest for 3 weeks. 2 weeks post op I stretched up to change a lightbulb. Caused an internal reaction to my surgery and was laid up
    for a further 6 weeks.

My guess is Brady will have done the same.

Cairney was MOM for Blackburn against TWS, laid on both goals, should put a bit of money on his value.

Maybe we should coordinate volunteers to be on lightbulb-changing duty.

Very good. I should have seen that one coming.

To Clarify My guess is Brady will have aggravated his surgery playing just two weeks after his operation.

I had umbilical (belly button) hernia surgery under local anaesthetic four years ago at the age of 70. The following day i drove 400 miles north up the I5 from Portland Oregon to Vancouver and then a 3 hour ferry ride to the Island on which I live. I had no ill effects, did my gardening, looked after myself for 3 weeks as my wife was in England.

My point is hernias are no big deal, especially to a young fit guy like Brady. But we're all different. He must have reinjured something to be out this long. Hernia surgery alone should not have caused anywhere near this length of layoff.

I reckon Cairney's fee is already agreed, just waiting for personal terms and the window.

As a PL club we can't do emergency loans (as Mr Hat said), unless we need a keeper in special circumstances.

    That's usually a fair assumption.

This could get embarrassing then, are we about to agree to sell him to Leeds despite him having already played for us and Charlton on long term deals? I hope it's just an effort to push the people behind the Charlton takeover into agreeing to back the deal before they're in place (providing old and new owners agree it can be done mid-takeover), hoping that they won't know the fine details of the rules to know Leeds can't sign him.

If we risk losing Jake surely we should hang on to Cairney now he seems to be fulfilling his potential. Sure they are different types of MFs but no question he has talent.

Re signings. One could easily get the impression that SB is mainly happy with the squad and that we are not rushing out to sign anybody.

That's exactly the impression he wants to give. It's not good to let a seller know you're eager to buy.

We should only buy a player if they'll improve the squad, particularly in January when prices go crazy. It wouldn't be the end of the world having the same players for the rest of the season and making solid plans for the summer.

The problem with the window is that hardly any business is done in the first 3 weeks. Then the last week builds up to a crescendo until the final day is madness.

We might as well just have a window of a week and have done with it.....

I'm fairly happy with the squad, finding a proper decent goal scorer available in January won't be easy or cheap so I'd almost forget about that. I did identify the right wing as a weakness but Elmo seems to have really picked up after a terrible start. Sometime in the next few weeks aluko will be fit to play there should anything happen to Elmo so that's not a huge concern. I'd look to find a young replacement for Koren who can slowly be bedded in over the second half of the season ready for next season.

I think Every team and player should be put into pots in January for a transfer lottery, along with values from £1m to £20m.

'Pot A: Hull City' sign 'Pot B: Sergio Aguero' for 'Pot C: £2m'
'Pot A: Man Utd' sign 'Pot B: Eldin Jakupovic' for 'Pot C: £18m'

Would shake things up a bit.

We need at least one striker this window.

Sagbo is very promising but not exactly prolific.

Graham doesn't deserve a place on the bench on current form.

Fryatt isn't the answer at this level and may go to Forest.

Gedo's on his way out (without getting a fair chance)

Prozzy had his chances but proved he can't do it.

If Mr A was willing to fund it I wouldn't mind us getting rid if all of them except Sagbo and picking up 3 new strikers.
