and Fulham know that they could land him for a fee of less than £1m.


That can't be right, surely we cannot be thinking of selling him for that. We bought him for £500k, his stock has risen since then, plus he's got 2 or 3 years left on his deal hasn't he? I don't think this story is true but if we were to sell Whelan it would surely be for £3m-£5m? We cannot sell Whelan, he's one of very few in our team who can actually pass a ball, we need him.

 

Tony won't let him go unless he finds a replacement.

 

Made-up surely. That we would let him go for less than 1 million is plain stupid. Although it wouldn't kill me to see him go, but I'd hope Pulis would get 3 million for him at least, after all he is a full international.
