Infamy, Infamy, they've all got it in for me (and Roger)!!! OK where do you want me to start ..... Baz taking over the day-to-day running of the club i.e. Chief Exec. This was the gist of GT's commentary in the Watford Observer from last Friday. I am not naive enough to think that Baz is going to do this for free. As for suggestions that I'm a negative influence : Who trusts Baz? I see a lot of people on here "hoping for the best"! Erm I tend to be a realist, some people criticise me for being "too optimistic", and you guys accuse me of being "too pessimistic". I could take that to mean I might get a few things correct. Who thinks player sales were "inevitable" this summer? Most people, and I feel the "cash now" deals done for Graham and Buckley were Fair Enough. I have had some criticism for this positive note. Malky MacKay leaving - the rumours have been spreading for a week now, and the BBC are now running the story, in my book that legitimises the story and frankly I believe if Malky doesn't leave Watford to join Cardiff he will leave to join another club this summer. So I thank you for your concerns, but I believe my opinions are fair (at the moment the news is predominatly bad). The debt repayment plan is on course and that is good news, because Barclays Bank have informed the club they're on the limit - Fact. When I hear / see some good news I will be commenting on it, but I admit I haven't heard or seen any yet, but in the meantime we should keep our peckers up.
The BBC is running an article but they are saying that he is bookies fav, which we have known for a while, but they are also saying that officials from CCFC have come out and stated that they have not made any approaches, but interviews are taking place. Whilst this could be interpreted as they have spoken to him 'unfairly' it might also mean that he is not even in their frame. Bookies are often wrong as we know
"Grumpy Old Man"--well, if the cap fits I had better wear it I suppose. I have sometimes in the past been called an "ogre" , which is a near anagram of "roger". But in my defence yes, I was critical of the Russo's, but I found quite a bit positive to say about Lord A when it was not always fashionable to be positive about him, and I have had some positive things to say about Rodgers--but that is another story. Mr B smelled bad from the start, and nothing that he has said or done, or what has since been revealed about him, or what has so far happened under his stewardship, has re-assured me. So I must continue to call it as I see it, which I can quite understand comes across as negative. Of course, I understand that we can only wait and see at this stage; that is obvious. But in the absence of any statements from Mr B (not just about Malky) and with no investigative reporting from the WO, we are left free to speculate on all manner of things. I like to think that my speculations are not idle, but are based on a reading of evidence, personalities and probabilities.
I like the programme Grumpy Old Men - reminds me too much of my own views on so many things - and you Roger and Elixir are both very entertaining but what makes it clear Roger that you are really an imposter is your Avatar - anyone with enough sense of humour to have that can't really be grumpy
There is obviously time left in the day, but as with all rumours, Monday means either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday and is valid for eternity. i.e. When Malky does eventually leave, be it tomorrow, the end of the week, 10 years time, these people can say, "See, I told you so", to which you reply, "But you said Monday over 6 years ago", to which they reply, "My sources went away on holiday so missed a small piece of information."
Leonardo--my avatar--have you never heard of post-modern irony? Now BBW is so post-modern and ironic with HIS avatar that he is practically old-fashioned. Why, he probably goes to Blackpool on his holidays and MEANS IT.
I'm old but I'm not grumpy...I'm just fed up of mobile phones, extendable dog leads, supermarket queues, Macdonalds, noise, banks, aggressive drivers, nervous drivers, bottled salad dressing, rap, litter, lateness and a couple of hundred other things.
I am young and grumpy! Mum used to say i am 18 going on 80, and have the opinions of a grumpy old man!
Haha, that actually made me "lol" Roger!! I have to confess though, I don't do the "North". Swap Blackpool with Bournemouth. I am definitely too old for my age. For instance, I got home today looking forward to doing the gardening. I get excited about orbital sanders. I want to buy a Skoda. I look forward to sitting on the sofa. Night clubs are too loud... I'm 24.
