Back now....it was so not gonna happen that last minute equaliser, just after Traore had given away a stupid foul practically in our area, wasting another couple of minutes....But super super Charlie!...I had decided before that it was all OUR fault, nothing to do with the team, just Flyer and my fault. We worked out we had gone to about 12 matches together without seeing the RRRRs win. Mind you Flyer was believing it too.....he suggested we go to the next 6 matches together as that would guarantee the sack for 'Arry. Anyway you are right,it is not our fault. Onwards and upwards come on u RRRRs
Thanks for the link. I thought Barton and O Neill played well. O Neill has been awful recently, but I think he's out of position when played wide. Also 4-4-2 allowed Barton to attack more. I hope HR sticks with this approach in future matches.
Well that wasnt desevered but I'll take it, the flyer/beth jinx is now over, its because of my new coat or moving out of the lower loft. Beth bought me a nice Xmas present, a harry redknapp autobiography! I kid you not. She did say I could use it to keep the fire going though... I still feel the team is being crippled by the manager and the fitness coach isn't helping either, yet another hamstring gone. I think it was Traore giving away that stupid fk that gave us the win, they sent their CBs forward and we caught them on the break. Motm was a tie between Philips and Austin for me.
Sooner or later Kranky gonna hit when off his laces. Thought we dominated the 2nd half. Fighting spirit mack and much more dangerous in a 4-4-2.
Oh and benayoun, what a prick, gets a little nudge in the back and stops playing and appeals to the ref, they score 10 seconds later. No wonder no one wanted to sign him, that was embarrassing.
Many thanks Seahoop- good to see us keep going 2nd half, and it was a very good goal with Phillips control of Green's punt, Simpsom's good cross, and Austin's great header. What was AJ doing kicking that bloke like that last minute in a no danger place, getting a needless yellow, and givin them the chance for 2-2? He ought to have been round long enough to know not to do that!
That second half performance was exactly what we needed. Great resolve and the team spirit looks excellent. Hopefully we will try to play with that sort of tempo and intent for greater periods, but overall I feeling much better.
I was wondering where he picked up that yellow card as it isn't mentioned in the BBC live text details, just the foul. 90:00 +3:22 Foul by Andrew Johnson (Queens Park Rangers). 90:00 +4:09 Attempt blocked. Harry Forrester (Doncaster Rovers) right footed shot from the centre of the box is blocked. Assisted by Paul Quinn.
Yes, that was so pathetic. He was cack anyway and cant understand his signing at all. He was good player while he was in Liverpool but that was ages ago.
Our playing was still slow and we losed so many second balls that it was embarrasing. We also stink in one on one situations and the quality of goal attemps (both heading and shooting) is well below par. Still we managed to win today but im beginning to agree with bully boy.
Well.........seldom can there have been a bigger contrast between the first and second half. First half we were simply ****e. Slow, no urgency, no desire, no pride..........nothing. Donny should have been out of sight by the break, having played some very good, incisive football (the polar opposite of ourselves). The crowd got quieter and quieter and angrier and angrier as the half went on. The team were loudly booed off when the ref put us out of our misery. Second half we changed formation, replaced the awful Benayoun and started to shift the ball much quicker. AJ put some effort in and helped take some strain off the rusty looking Austin. We played a lot better second half and the team spirit seemed good. An absolutely fantastic header from Charlie to win it in added time, which was apt as Donny were time wasting from the moment we equalised. We were in the upper loft and we went berserk when it went in!! A few observations: Why the **** does Redknapp nearly always seem to select the wrong starting 11, only to get a much more effective 11 on the field by the end? Pick the right side to start with Harry FFS! Kranjcar is undoubtedly a talented player on the ball, but it has to be put onto a plate for him. He's so slow and lazy.......he played behind Austin in the first half in a 4-4-1-1 and did nothing to either help/support Austin or help the centre mids. Most of the time he looks a lardy, lazy, lumbering lump. Barton undoubtedly cares and always tries 100%. He was great at winning the ball, but, most of the time absolutely dreadful with his distribution, giving the ball away time and again. Ned looks great at the back and his pace really helps. Dunne looks increasingly like a carthorse and must be replaced by Hill imo. Simpson had a better game with a superb cross to Charlie for that header. Whilst Ekotto looks as though he really isn't too bothered, he is one exceptional footballer. O'Neill had a better game and should always play in the centre if he starts imo. Phillips had some good moments and stuck the vital equaliser away, but imo he needs to work harder to get into more attacking positions and he must, must MUST take on his marker more! Charlie looked a little rusty (understandably) but he never stopped running and what an absolutely fantastic header to win it!! Let's hope that the last gasp win will regalvanise our confidence and resolve. Now FFS Harry.............stop being so negative and start to put the right team out from the beginning.
