Yeovil Town - Watford View attachment 28466 Watford travel to Somerset for a televised game and their first visit to Huish Park to meet Yeovil Town looking to get their own back for the embarrassing defeat the Glovers gave the Hornets at the end of November. In the visitors favour is they are visiting the worst perfoming team at home in the division and have only lost one of their last six matches, against Sheffield Wednesday, but have four draws which are all on their travels. Strangely the Hornets have lost only twice away from Hertfordshire this season which gives them the best equal number with Derby County and Nottingham Forest. The Glovers have seven home goals scored and the fewest goals scored of any team in the division, 18 including the three they scored in Watford. They will be looking to make a bounce back after a 5:1 smack in Huddersfield after leading in that game. Yeovil Town Byron Webster has recovered from his injury and could play, as is the possibility of Shane Duffy who has returned for more time on loan from Everton. Ed Upson and Marek Stech are nearly fit and could be included if fitness tests are successful, if not Joe Ralls and Chris Dunn could play. Watford Davide Faraoni, Essaïd Belkalem Almen Abdi and Tommy Hoban are still on the long time injury list and Fitz Hall is now out of his short contract. Daniel Pudil, Fernando Forestieri and Iketchi Anya are named as injured after the QPR match, but could be in the team. If the two new players registrations are confirmed Matias Ranégie and Alexander Merkel might be included in the team. Almost a history The two teams have only met once before when the Glovers made the journey to Hertfordshire. They returned home with three points after winning 0:3. The goals scored by Byron Webster, Ismael Miller and Joe Edwards one in injury time of each half and the other atfer 8 minutes of the second half beat the hosts who thoroughly dominated the match in the possession percentage, shots, corner kicks and the visitors only won on the foul count. The shot count was 29 to the hosts against 10 for the visitors, but you do not win if the shots do not go in the goal.
Anya and Forestieri doubtful, though reading between the lines Anya will be a substitute. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10906462.Anya_and_Forestieri_doubtful_for_Yeovil_trip/?ref=mr
You're better at reading between the lines than me then! BS says "players have to be 100%" and "I prefer to have players who can do 90 minutes rather than be substituted" - suggests to me that he won't be involved at all...
I read that as meaning he wouldn't start with a player who would not last 90 minutes. That doesn't mean that such a player wouldn't be on the bench.
More improvement and a sneaky win will do me and 5* for the match thread. Does this mean we can stop talking about QPHa for a while? COYH
Nice little 1-2 to us will do for me - nice one AK, thanks for posting this up. 5*'s and Happy New Year.
Thanks ak very good. Worth 5 s of anyone's money. Happy New Year to all on here, and let's hope it is for the club also.
Good away form and I hope those going don't get too wet - and see a much improved display on the home game!
seven goals to start the new year, anything less and I'll be an unhappy hornet buzzing around the Aberdeenshire hills on the 2nd....
I think this thread will grow to be larger than all if the posts in the Yeovil area alladded together.
Hope the game is not in doubt with the weather as it is here, good luck to all the travelling horns and hope you get a win for your efforts!!!!
12:45 1st January 2014 Strenuous efforts to clear water from the Huish Park pitch and surroundings areas is going on in an attempt to keep the pitch playable for tonight’s SkyBet Championship match against Watford. Grounds staff are using Waterhog machines to keep the water away from the joints in the covers before they are removed around three o’clock. As things stand at the moment (12.45pm) the game is definitely on but Wellie Boots would appear to be the order of the day.
