"Well judging by all the games I've seen him play for Spurs I have to say that I had not seen Paulinho play like he did the other day." +1. I considered him to be halfway between the likes of Sandro and Neymar in terms of workmanship and "Samba" skills. It seems those skills are just in the DNA for Brasil players and merely a moment away from being unleashed. Wouldn't surprise me at all if that flick to Soldado effectively put him in the injury sights of Adam.
Blackpool was just a stepping stone to get his ****ery a higher profile. Liverpool was a mistake. You can't deny that when he joined Stoke it seemed perfect. Ugly thug who can knock in a decent long ball, is handy at set pieces, doesn't mind maiming opponents. It says something about Stoke that I really felt that Peter Crouch was far too much of a classy player to join them.
confirmation of Paulinho's injury from sky: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ed-out-for-a-month-with-ankle-ligament-damage
I forgot that Adam got sent off against us at the Britannia last season. So that's two red cards and three players injured. Good job he doesn't have a problem with us, isn't it?
The 'pros/cons' analysis that I'm sure all his managers go thru when deciding to put him on the pitch. The opponent being Spurs is just the icing on the cake for Charlie boy.
For the next outing against us, he's got to be worth an early yellow for an elbow in the face. Hell, I'd be happy to see 11 yellows, all for elbows in the face.
And they hadn't noticed before? We've made a big deal about thuggishness in the past. Did he even get a yellow for this assault?
Oh well, I guess the best course of action is to have someone lamp him in the face the next time we play them. It doesn't even have to be when the ball is in play, somebody should just walk up to him and deck him - even if he's on the bench at the time.
You can't blame Stoke for signing him, it's the only way to protect your squad providing you make him train alone or at the local kick-boxing club.
One of these would do it... please log in to view this image And it looks like we have someone willing to do it, too: https://twitter.com/sandroraniere/status/418022237133099010
Got to love Sandro! please log in to view this image Someone put a nice quartet of Charlie Adam "highlights" together: please log in to view this image Really shows his intent on the Paulinho injury. Who tackles like that?
This one is still my "favourite" .... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/63715...by_charlie_adam_tackle_tottenham_vs_blackpoo/
"This one is still my "favourite"" And @ 18s reveals why Adam is an utter **** . He is not looking at the ball. His intent is to plough thru Bale first and worry about the ref after.
When the PL fixtures were released in June, there was a full fixture list for Boxing Day and also the Saturday 28th. Clubs were invited to request games be put back to the Sunday 29th and were advised any requests would be granted. Because Stoke were at Newcastle on Boxing Day, they were most keen to have an extra day recovery from the long trip, so approached Spurs for agreement to play on Sunday. We agreed and so too, as promised, did the PL. The reason why the game kicked off at 4 was because AVB had a preference for 4pm kick offs and Stoke were ok with this.
"Does anyone know why this game was played on a Sunday, out of interest?" I assume it was long scheduled for Sky Sports coverage.
