    My memory is fading - but I'm sure that we have in the past played players on the same day that they signed for the club. Just can't remember the names... :(

    I see we were fined the "standard" £5,000 for undisciplined conduct for the players surrounding the referee at Ipswich

    Flippin ref should be made to pay half of that - it was his shocking decision that caused the reaction. :(

    I thought a player could not play within 48 hours of signing?

    NZ, I have a horrible feeling BB is referring to Gary Plumley.

    41.3 Subject to Regulations 41.4 and 41.5, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his Standard Loan, Emergency Loan, Youth Loan or Emergency Loan of a goalkeeper transfer are received (including by facsimile) and found to be in order by the Executive:

    41.3.1 in respect of any fixture played on a weekday when the Office is normally open, at least three hours before the match;

    I guess the question is whether or not the FL offices are open on New Years Day....

    I stand corrected. I wonder where I got the 48 hour idea from?

    I think that applied when you could make transfers any time during the season up until deadline day which, if I remember correctly, was usually about mid-March.

    Mathias Ranégie isn't a lightweight striker, a more direct style coming to the Vic?

    It's good we are doing business early.

    On the point of when they could sign - the window has to be open and the paperwork completed so as the 1st was a BH then it's unlikely to have been possible but certainly the registration has to be confirmed something like midday the day before a match or maybe midnight? Either way they do need some hours to check the paperwork and clear the player so they definitly would not have been available for Yeovil.

    Not according to the rules - for a midweek match, it's three hours before the game is played apparently, and according to the Beeb there were nine transfers completed on day one...

    I'd like to keep them both TBH but then we have got a midfielder in now and Bepe might want his own left back.
