Let's face it...... Murray tried to move us out of the Valley..... Varney wanted to move the Club into Kent..... Cash invested with Jiminez so he could relocate the Club and then develop the Valley.... Le Belge is a businessman and asset stripper who will undoubtedly want to cash in on the Club's assets and replace them with cheaper ones. So if the Belgian takes over what do I think will happen? 1) Solly and/or Cousins to be sold in January, 2) Loans in from Standard Liège and Ujpest to cover holes in squad, 3) Some contract extensions, probably with a view to some additional sales in the summer, 4) Within the next 12 months some planning for a move from the Valley, 5) New manager. If the Yanks take over? 1) Contract renewals and a very limited amount of money for new players/Loans in January, 2) Planning for a move to new stadium at Greenwich Peninsula, 3) Summer review of the Manager, 4) Summer sales of 2 or 3 players (if prices are right) with some money being invested in new players. This is just what I think will happen if/when either of the prospective new owners take over and is based on every scrap of information I can find on the two groups. I do not think Administration is a possibility because with only £2m of external debt what would be the point? This asset of the community thing is just a red herring (as I have said before) as relocating from The Valley would take 3 years so allowing six months for discussions with various groups regarding the Valley site would not be an issue. These are just my views by the way, I am NOT in the know. AllHell
Why do you think he is an asset stripper? You state we have only 2m of external debt, what do you base that on? Tweet from Cawley. @RichCawleySLP: We've also got more on Roland Duchatelet #cafc takeover. Indications that number of signings lined up to come in quickly if it happens. The news I heard yesterday would suggest that the Belgian takeover would not be happening. But we need to be a bit more patient.
I'm an Estates Surveyor for a big South London NHS Trust I have to say that any Greenwich Peninsula move excites me (and makes viable sense!)
I agree now, although I wouldn't have for years, Messrs. Murray and Varney's manoevres to sell the Valley have softened my views a bit, and a move within Greenwich coupled with a vision for the future and stability for CAFC, well it seems an appealing prospect.
The whole training ground argument is a non starter. Not sure how it gathered so much momentum. Any ''problems'' (negotiations) related to what it has always been about, and the main theme of this thread - The Valley. As you say - whoever has been in charge and whoever will be in charge has/will look to relocate and cash in on it. It suits all parties involved, though not a % of fans.
Lads, its almost 2014 ! It feels to me like the takeover is going to happen this time, i can feel it. I am all for whatever helps make the club viable and exist going forward. No more hogties !
Dick, I got the fact that he was an asset stripper from here - http://valleytalkblog.com/2013/12/2...elgian-football-expert-answers-our-questions/ The £2m of external debt was quoted by Rich Crawley during the Yanks negotiations There is other debt ie £10m owed to previous shareholders under the 2010 sale agreement and monies owed to the current owners. Another reason I do not think the Valley is in the previous/current owners plans is that they let that block of land (behind the JS Stand) be sold to a developer without making an offer or a fuss!
It seems as though the Belgian may not be the only interested party, even at this stage. Whisper it carefully in front of typical, but Rick Everitt has been coming over all peculiar today I would'nt trust Rich Cawley any further than I could throw him - he is a Palace supporting stooge who re-cycles planted tip offs.
Rick Everitt is one of those guys that when news breaks says ''I heard this yesterday/last week'' and people swarm to him for opinions. I don't doubt he gets some information, but not as much as he says. I saw on Twitter the other day, a lady commentating how the current board go with her thanks. He shot her down about the people who had left during their tenure and she backfooted and apologised to him!!! He being the gentleman didn't tell her not to worry, or no offense caused - he just ignored it. Trying to stay relevent was how I saw it
This was from Toby from the SLP in November. One of the factors that has made the club an attractive proposition is its low level of debt – it owes just £4million to banks, a reduction from the £7m owed when the club was taken over by Michael Slater and Tony Jimenez on December 31, 2010. Another £7m is owed to former directors such as Richard Murray, but none of this is payable until the club is back in the Premier League. So it is a bit more than 2M quoted.
Out of curiosity, I don't really know what rep points are but a few weeks ago I had several hundred thousand and now I've got less than 4k. Should I be standing on top of a mountain shouting at the sky or can I relax?
You have lost a lot of points today? If you look on the 'Control Panel' which is on the top right hand side of this page it will tell you how you lost them? I will have to wait a few hours before I can give any more rep.
Cheers AH. Will have a look next time I'm bob the laptop. Don't think can get to the control panel on the iPhone.
Just had a look. I have lost 7.2 million rep points but its not obvious to me from the control panel how that's happened. I'm afraid I don't know what this means as I'm a simple soul and I've never taken any notice of rep points before, but if someone is trying to tell me something I'd prefer an open debate tbh.
