I think the pressure will be on CH all season long unless City hit some form and have a decent run of games. The Fulham result certainly hurt his chances, but the performance yesterday certainly showed the response needed. Yes Utd had a lot of possession, but they created very little up front (City had 15 chances to their 7). The service was there, but de Gea had a blinder and the goal wouldn't come. I don't know why people on here are writing RvW off after 7 appearances and 3 substitute cameos. It took Hooper more than 7 games to get going and I still think RvW will deliver once he gets some games under his belt. In the end, CH's future will be decided by better goal-scoring (or not) and perhaps by team strengthening over the next month. As for new players not performing, does that include Fer, Olsson, Redmond, Hooper, and even the much slated Elmander? Do people ever think before saying that sort of thing? Do they also look at the disruption caused by injuries over the first half of the season?
This topic certainly made me laugh, but you should have done more research in order to construct a more convincing 'rumour'.
I think the early warning system will be Sam Allardyce being sacked. Surely he will go before Hughton (if he goes at all).
This is purely gossip but thought I'd share it anyway, a friend of mine was in Tesco's , Sprowston, Saturday night after the Man U game, and bumped into Mark Bunn. He approached him and asked for an autograph which Bunny agreed to, and as he was doing this thought he'd just go right for it and asked him " how close is Hughton for the sack" Bunny just looked him straight in the eye and replied "VERY" ! As I said pos just gossip? And before anyone asks, there was no sign of shola Amiobi in the car park to my knowledge!
The players may think he is close to the sack, but do they actually know? Would DM have actually told the players that Hughton was very close to the sack, or would Hughton have told the players that he was? Got to be just gossip surely.
Here we go! The random links to the managerial role are starting! http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1666908?&cc=5739
DM would never interfere with the players, so either it's just a feeling in the camp, or Hughton's come out and said "Look guys, my job is dependent on 3 points against Palace".
I must admit I also think that if we loose Tomoz then I've got a feeling he could go. If the board worked fast OGS & Phelan could be in place within 7-10 days leaving plenty of time for transfers? That would be my choice if it could be done.
If CH has said that to the players, then to me that smells of sheers desperation, and I'm sorry to say it, but he should go.
I am very surprised that a player would respond to a question like that. Seems very unlikely to me so I will reserve judgement on the situation.
Another little snippet for you, Wes has just put his house on the market? Maybe he's just looking for another house round here? Or is it just pure coincidence him putting it on in December? Once again I'll just let you think on that one to. That's it now I'm all out of club gossip.
To be fair, that Udinese bloke that has been linked is a rather random link.... to random that there could be something in it, and exactly the type of manager I would like to see next. A proven track record, in one of europes top leagues.
Or maybe that never happened and its a load of rubbish people are making up because they want a story? No player would answer a question like that, people putting their house up for sale means nothing and why does everyone think OGS would be a good manager? The only people who seem desperate are those who want CH sacked.
Guidolin would be a great choice. High risk, but he's just the sort of manager I think could take us to the next level if it clicked. I wouldn't want OGSi have to say
My post above is based purely on extent of managerial experience by the way. OGS is, at this stage, just a big name, but would be a much higher risk than a manager of 20 years experience with great success (and some educating disappointment) through thick and thin. On a random note, I read the article and couldn't help noticing that the picture of Guidolin has an uncanny resemblance to McNally! The same cold, hard facial expression Maybe McNally is creating a football club run entirely by (Matrix) Mr Smith's?
For some-one with "Tipsy" in there name you sound like your cold turkey? Like I said just things I've heard, but both did happen! Both sources are VERY good friends, one working within the club. So I'm not to bothered whether you think there's anything in them or not! But I do believe that OGS will make a good manager, if he had MP with him as a head coach I think they'd be a pretty good combo? And IMO would be worth the gamble.
I would be livid if Hughton were to sell Hoolahan! Hope he is just looking to move house in the area. As for the other story, that link is far too random to be idle gossip and the fact he has been asked questions about it suggest the board have been preparing to replace Hughton.
