who will be the biggest threat to England in Brasilia '14 ?

    Edinson Cavani

Luis Suarez who served an 8 game ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra and a 10 game ban for biting Ivanovich

    Mario Balotelli

England's greatest threat is their lack of self-belief.

We don't have any threats - everyone expects us to go out in the group stages so anything else will be a massive bonus. Of course we could do what the last team from these shores to contest a World cup in South America did and say we're going to win it and have an open top bus tour around the national stadium before they go but i think that would be a little foolish.

I think we're going to do better than you think (if everyone is fit). Our strikers are pretty quick and we're not that **** at defending.

Saying that, half our team will get injured and the plan will probably crash on it's way there...

Was that England then? I can't recall us doing that in Mexico 86<whistle> No 78 was hysterical with mad Ally. I remember being devastated as a kid, but it's really quite funny now looking back.

That's the thing Dan most English fans always got behind us in world cups and whatever. Meanwhile up the road I remember sitting eating my schadenfreude sandwiches and gleefully watching England getting null points in euro 88. Hell I was even cheering on Eire against big Tel and the boys:shocked: It wasn't a race thing for me it was the ****ing commentators. We used to run a sweepstake on how long into a game it was until 1966 was mentioned.

It's only in the last couple of competitions I have finally relented and actually hoped England do well. Anyway good luck to you I think you will need it as it's a difficult section.

I'd be delighted to see England do well. Nothing against them at all.

Like you say Moses, it's the media that piss most people off. In fact I'd imagine a lot of the England fans get pissed off with them as well.

The players must think "oh **** here we go again, being touted as world beaters by a bunch of fannies back home". The result is there is too much pressure on the manager and players and they are ****ed before they have even started.

Just leave them alone and let's see how they get on.

Spot on Moses and ER - the media drive me amd as well so i can only imagine how you guys feel having it rammed down your throats. I think it was ST who said he wanted Engalnd to win the world cup as that would be the biggest incentive for many Scots to vote yes next year - I make him right <laugh>

ER is definitely right about the impact on the players as well - you can see them playing with fear of failure now becasue they're concerned about what reception they'll get back home - they're not good enough to have that weight of expectation on their shoulders.

We're most definitely going to do well, we'll probably win it but I'm not going to be that optimistic just yet...
