The Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge the referee was the arguably difference between the two sides. Michael Oliver was certainly very happy Chelsea won that game. I'm not surprised at all that Pochettino's made these comments before we play Chelsea again.
The dirty cheating, diving, fouling side from West London arrive at St Mary's tomorrow and Mauricio is right to say in advance that he expects the referee do his job properly. Anyone who saw Chelsea's game against Liverpool the other day will know what a travesty of justice that was thanks to a shocking display of the most inept refereeing. We don't expect favour or bias just a competent and fair referee.
Is Crook so stupid that he thinks only the written press attend the press conferences? I hardly describe Pochettino as Seething Well done on Pochettino for highlighting the Elephant in the room. We are the best looking squad in the premier league.
After this fuss.......(I'm scared to type this) Morgan's going to get hammered for a hard but fair tackle tomorrow. It feels fated.
I don't know whether Mauricio's comments will help or hinder...may put the ref on full alert and Morgan's sheer gorgeousness may not protect him.
apart from us have a fairly lackluster performance that is... oh and Jose Mourinho's fairly astute tactical changes.
I can think of at least two cases where the opposition would be bemoaning the refs lack of gumption, specifically Spidermans tackle in the West Ham game and Lovren's in the penalty area where he missed the ball (forget which game) and caught the player. As for being nice, I seem to remember that we had committed more fouls than any other Prem side although had the fewest bookings earlier in the season, so I don't think that we have been so hard done by, accepting that there might be some effect on refs of an intimidating home atmosphere. Can't argue about the good looking bit though, as I never argue with Fran on such matters.
I guess Iain Dowey was the last player that was less than hansome? Or do you mean ugly tactics rather than appearance?
Possibly a bit of both. I'm no judge of male beauty, but Victor Wanyama doesn't strike me as a pretty boy.
If it were a Saints hand rather than an Everton hand on Sunday at Goodison, then I think it would have been given. We don`t intimidate, which seems to be the domain of the `big ` clubs - same in Scotland, and every other league I expect.
Perhaps it is just a bit of a mind game before the Chelsea match after Mourinho claimed they were poorly treated by refs and pundits who had a Liverpool bias. Perhaps our youthful image is an attempt to win over the hearts of younger females and get them supporting Saints!!
Aberdeen used to have a player called Davie Dodds - he wasn`t called Elephant Man for nothing. I can`t bring myself to copy a photo on here. Makes Dowie look like Brad Pitt.
I don't think we've been particularly hard done by. We should have had a penalty at Norwich, maybe at Stoke. We had a goal wrongly ruled out against Swansea and we've had a few dodgy offside decisions but they happen to every club so I don't think we've got any reason to whine that we've been unfairly treated.
