Fair enough, I misunderstood. I see you being fired up for this one as much as any, against a side who recently beat you and off the back of Brendan's first set of consecutive defeats where you were arguably on the wrong end of a couple of decisions. However, with all due respect, I don't see you as having the players of a Man City or Chelsea where if they're on it we're in trouble. You have a few of those players but a number of average one's around them. If we contain Suarez again I think we can look to pack the midfield with your injuries in that area and at least nick a point. Unlike others, I hope Gerrard is out, even if he's not 100%. Lucas looked very sloppy against Chelsea and I'm not sure who else is fit of your midfielders? Are Allen and Henderson out? The young lad who came on against Chelsea (Smith?) looked scared to death and seemed to lose the ball everytime he got it. With the Likes of Livermore, Thudd, Koren and Meyler I'd think we could actually gain a real foothold in the game via the midfield.
You're funny mate. For the record, your 'fixing' actually lost the sentence its syntax, better luck next time.
Huddletsone is going to be **** in this game though as we all know what happens when players get their hair cut #touchwood
well other than the fact that last 16 home games have had to be in the last 12 months... yeah whatever... just cos he isn't arsed marking up anymore doesn't mean that if he plays he'll pass you off the park.
oh and for hull 19 games, 23 points... you need 40. you need to stop getting cocky and start getting more points. good first half but you need to focus on the bottom half teams like fulham and not on us. we had a guy called kpr57 on 606 he lived in hull and as a result i've "some" time for hull city so don't use it up but becoming boastful twats like swansea (who right now are below you and looking like scraping to 40 points themselves.) Its bad enough a ****e like bruce manages you...... just come to anfield and sing, everyone loves a good away day crowd at anfield.
Glad Bruce didn't think like that before we played you at the KC. We should be targeting points from every game. We're not cocky, or at least I'm not, you're most likely misinterpreting a bit of banter. We know better than anyone how a season can go tits up within the blink of an eye, but it's not unreasonable for us to see this game as a chance to nick at least a point having already beaten you and off the back of a 6-0 win. You're the favourites, of course, but this is no foregone conclusion as some of your posters have acknowledged.
... Anyway. Only worry for us should be set plays. We can't defend them, and Huddlestone has a decent delivery. If Suarez is on his game, we could easily win by 3+ goals. He's just that good vs weaker defences. But, saying that, a lot hinges on supply - Henderson will apparently pass a late fitness test, Gerrard perhaps back. It'll be Agger, Skrtel, Toure and someone at the back probably, with our injuries there. Sterling is in great form too, could see him causing you problems.
I'm only joshing.... its a day for joshing. i left danling comments for a number of well known rival fans who hog this board as well.
I agree. Up against Figgy he should have a field day, Man U caused us no end of problems down our left on Boxing Day. Bruce did a cracking job at silencing Suarez, as did Meyler on Gerrard. Hopefully they're up to the same job again on Wednesday.
22 Mignolet 02 Johnson 38 Flanagan 08 Gerrard 04 Kolo Touré 37 Skrtel 31 Sterling (Coutinho - 66' ) 21 Lucas 07 Suárez 14 Henderson 12 Moses (Luis Alberto - 74' ) Had a good half an hour and didnt do much from what I remember.
Must have been returning from injury then I'm not claiming Coutinho is a world beater and will destroy Hull single handedly, far from it. What I mean is, if we only have one of suarez, Sturridge or Coutinho on the pitch then we are much easier to play against. However, if all three are playing it is obviously much harder for the opposition. We will have a medium on Wednesday with two of them, plus an inform Sterling
Worth noting, our sides have conceded the same amount of goals. You can still think our defence is weak but you must think the same of yours. Personally, I think we've a strong defence, or at least a strong central defence. Sterling was remarkably futile at the KC but seems to have come on a bit with game time. Thought he looked dangerous at Chelsea without any final product. Likewise, Coutinho is a very skillful player but his passing seems a little wayward. Fingers crossed you stick with Agger at left-back. Assume Johnson will be the other defender. Given your injuries I'd say our midfield & defence is on a par but you have a far stronger attack.
Our defence is weak, especially at set-pieces. Pretty sure our attack is better than yours though Edit: note to self, read the whole post before replying
