Do you want to open a seperate post for every idea or add-on thought? It's getting daft and boring this thread control. Try trying to distinguish between discussion and drivel and things might not be so bad.
It's funny how you had to twist that sentence to make it seem Leeds fans don't regard Leeds City as part of their history. The proof of the pudding is to ask them. What do you think your answer would be?
I didn't twist anything!!! The answer I'd expect is that they don't associate with it. I'd suggest that because they say they were formed in 1919 for a start, but most of them don't wan't the early years brought in at all as it shows they're mainly a second tier team. Most only look at their time from Revie.
A relocation that takes a club away from its fan base is clearly more serious than a name change to a club that doesn't relocate. I think a lot of the most ardent people arguing against the name change would still support the club if they fail, and I don't think you have said you definitely won't be amongst them.
You wish. http://www.mightyleeds.co.uk/seasons/191415part2.htm Nice article there about Leeds City 2-3 Hull City (1914) on a Leeds United fan-site.
I'm glad you agree with me that history was changed on Saturday by the addition of another result. I don't understand the rest of what you're saying.
And you are telling us what? Is it that the name-change will bring in the finance that AA says it will; a simple yes or no will suffice.
Same owner Same manager Same players Same stadium Same nickname Same colours Hull City / Hull Tigers = same club with a little name change Are people seriously going to stop going to watch games if the little name change is passed ? After all they claim Hull Tigers would be a different club Me ,? I will still be going and I will still be supporting the same team I always have supported . U T T
Yup. He know's what he's doing. I also know what CTWD are up to. They don't know what they're doing. HCC don't know what they're doing. Coincidence? No.
It was updated. It wasn't rewritten, prior to that game, our history is the same. Post that, it's still us, but different. I'm glad you are slowly realising that you can "change" (update) history and still be the same thing though, I feel thats a little victory. Of course you don't. You're just purer than driven snow Obi, along with his missus just supporting the team and trying to do his little bit to save our club. You don't understand all these businessy and politically type thingys, you're just a simple fan, pushed to doing something on behalf of the whole football family. We believe you.
As I said the name change isn't that important to you. Wimbledon FC initially moved to Crystal Palace and only moved to Milton Keynes after it entered administration due to falling gates. My own position is clear. If the FA approves the name change CTWD will decide on our next steps. I think we'll keep our current name so will cross that bridge if I'm wrong.
you're the type of silly **** that would have accepted this country being renamed as Germany if Hitler had won the war and taken us over - same people, same country, just a new owner who can call it what he likes
Ok, but trying to bring the thread somewhat back to the original point in terms of condoning chants. Question for OBI and OLM. As "senior" CTWD representatitives, have either of you joined in with the "We say No Allam" chant?
I agree and I think CTWD will owe Vincent Tan a huge thank you as I believe the FA will reject the application as a general stance against "eccentric" owners.
But you can only guess/hope the name change will work. It seems that a significant number of supporters and a lot of the football world seem to think it won't bring the anticipated success due to the nature of the game. Hull Tigers or Man United? It's going to take more than changing the name to bring further success. Allam could call us Hull prancing ponies and you lot wouldn't give a damn. Let's see what the FA decide, it's their call now.
I haven't ever claimed that history was rewritten. I said the history books will have to be rewritten a different thing all together. Amazing we have agreement. Every result updates/changes our history. All we need to agree is that some results are more significantly historically then others and we'll have total agreement. I understand business and politics. I don't know why you mention my wife, seems like a fairly low thing to do as she's not registered on this board and cannot answer for herself. I don't care if you believe me or not.
