As started above, so when such a player does sign the Metro screams WE TOLD YOU SO about their completely made-up story. Lets face it, if Cardiff sign, say 4 players in january, there's a reasonable chance the number 8 will appear in one of their birth dates.
Explain what? They are in the process of changing managers and drawing on a big transfer purse (allegedly), which could give them a spurt, so form wise, apart from our massive five point lead, how is life being so tits up for them? Bit early for them sort of comparisons, methinks; keep Southampton in mind. Really? Who was it tried to be smart on the Shane Long deal and failed miserably? Who brought in Gedo, using a loan place that has proven totally wasted - do you really think we do not need that striker position filled? Why is it the flavour of the season on here to isolate the name-change debacle and ignore his other strange and interfering eccentricities? It's not politically correct to highlight such things on here.
This is quickly becoming another Mario Balotelli situation. Due to their reputations as being slightly eccentric the media can be as artistic in their stories as they like. Vincent Tan insists on having a new born baby present at the Cardiff City Stadium before each home game so he can kiss it's head prior to the game starting... Cos it's good luck innit.
Cardiff squad numbers to be 8,18,28,38, no 48(orientals don't like 4's),58,68,78,80,81,82,83,85,86,87,88(star larker) 89,98,108,118(will have a tash)128,138,158,168,178,180,188,189,198>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>888(Chairmans Number) just you see.
I don't know whether it has already been mentioned, but 8 is a lucky number in the Far East particularly in China. It wouldn't surprise me if Tan had actually said this.
We shouldn't titter. If our present owner is pimping our club to these Oriental buffoons, this is the type of nonsense they go for. Hull Tigers? Happy Garden Dragons.......
That was the whole source of the article, which is their way of pointing to evidence that it could possibly be true. Still bullshit to me.
8 is indeed viewed as a lucky number in the Far east. Just like the west have a superstitious aversion to the number 13. Asians probably think some of our clubs are bonkers because they omit the number from their squad list.
There's a few on here who might well be looking forward to having their Tiger penis chewed on - I can't think of any other reason why they are so for the change
So was my father's, but as he died in 1972 I don't think he would be of much use!! Oh, I don't know though?
