I wanted to see more of Ibe a few weeks ago when Sterling was pants, but now the little feller's remembered what we're paying him for it's harder to fit Ibe in, so a loan might be good.
On the other hand, with the injuries we're getting we're looking a bit thin so perhaps we need to keep hold of players like him in case of Sterling or Coutinho picking up another.

On a side note, why are all young men called Jordan these days?

  2. Right now he would play, but what about when the injuries clear up? Would he get in the side ahead of Sturridge, Coutinho, Suarez, Gerrard, Henderson, Lucas, Allen, Sterling, etc?

  3. Sometimes it is the less obvious ones that do better. Wasn't Scholes the poor relation at Man Utd? Nicky Butt was the better potential yet look how that worked out.

I still think Ibe could be the better player.

Hard to say but if he is doing the job, why drop him? If say we are working with a front four of Suso, Suarez, Sterling, Coutinho, with say Gerrard and Lucas/Hendo behind. If Suso is playing well, then he should stay. If Sterling is playing ****, he should get dropped. Also depends on the formation and all that too. Could see him doing well in a diamond four in the middle for example if we wanted to play strikers.

Any time I have seen him play in the spanish league, he just looks so comfortable on the ball, looks to always pick players out, dangerous with the ball at his feet and has a sweet left foot. So many things I think our team could use.

  6. Can't argue with any of that but I can point at my other comment...

...if he doesn't perform then he is sat on the bench rather than playing regular football. Quite a bit of pressure on a young lad that has previously struggled too.

  8. I'd read it if I had a free copy, not paying for it though! It would also be in a queue as I have half of Rob Jones' still to read, plus Rafa's CL stroy and Vinnie Jones' too

It would be a gamble no doubt, but I think BR has shown with the younger players a fair bit of trust and helping them with confidence. I mean, who would have seen Flanno step up the way he did?? Wisdom last year, Suso, and even Sterling who had it, lost it, and seemed to got it back. Some of that has to go to Rodgers.

Even in the u-20 tournament they had this past Summer, Suso was the captain and was arguably one of the best players, possibly ahead of Delefelu and Jese.

Gifr from one of the directors at our club. Saint, you aren't missing much, nothing really coaching in it, loads of kiss and tell stories. A lot of people at United would have let Scholes go a long long time ago. Sometimes that patience does pay off.

  11. Pacheco was the best player in two pre-seasons for us, he dominated the youth/reserve leagues and was the player of a world youth tournament too <whistle>

Gotta get the chances in the first team though! Suso showed last season he coudl probably handle it and thi season was a season to grow and come back even more ready for the prem. Suso was also pretty good in the Europa too.

Any chance we may see Illori against Hull? Another youngster who needs games or a loan before challenging again with the likes of Agger, Toure, Skaho, Skrtel, etc.

That's very true. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't have the right attitude you wont make it. I would never have picked Jon Flanagan to play first team for Liverpool.

Not sure why but it reminded me of another one. Teixeira..... bought from Sporting as the "new deco"..... then got loaned out to like a league 1 side? What happened there?

  15. Pacheco had five chances in the first team but never looked like he belonged there. Obviously, I hope Suso is different and would love him to come good.

Ilori is a frustrating one. I know he's suppose to be one for the future but why spend £7m (I think?) on a player that rarely even makes the bench and plays in a position we are over crowed in? Surely that money, along with the Aspas (£7m) and Alberto (£6.8m) cash could have got us a very good first team player instead?

    Yes yes and yes. <ok>

Suso has had a lot more than 5 chances though? And has shown some really good touches and also not being overawed by the occasion ( manc game at home last year).

  17. I could be wrong here, but Gerrard wasn't a stand out player in the youths/reserves was he?

  18. I just hope Ilori and Alberto become very good players. Aspas needed to be a instant hit and it's not worked out so far. I think he will follow the likes of Sahin, Borini and Assaidi and be moved on fairly sharpish.

i think we all knew he had something special though, big difference in stepping up when given the chance like he did though, and just remaining someone who could make it and has potential i suppose.

Can't remember but thought he was just a bit better than normal for sure? I know Carra seemed to languish around, not just at LFC but with England, loads of u21 caps I think before actually being called up? Turned out to be a hero for us.
