I'd take that. As it's TWS they give us £750k and McCormack and they can have the mercurial talent that is Stewart. Sounds fair to me.

We needed a bidding war between two clubs. Would seem that Leeds beat Charlton.
Wouldn't mind seeing McCormack here as well though.

Is it just me that thinks Fryatt is as good, if not better, than McCormack? I haven't checked but I'd guess they have comparable Championship scoring records.

McCormack is a bit pacier and more explosive, his goalscoring this season is better than Fryatt has ever had I believe, something like 17 in 20.

Don't think they'd flog him though, not if they're serious about a play-off push.

Didn't Fryatt top score in that division in a calendar year?

Yes, but he didn't have a record anywhere near 1 in 1.

Does a season run on a calendar year?

Only issue is that Leeds can't sign him properly yet. He's played for us and Charlton already this season so he could only join Leeds on an emergency loan basis.

No, nobody said it did. A season normally occurs between early to mid August until April / early May. Glad to be able to help with this.

Thought that rule only applied if it was a loan? Surely we are looking at selling him

No, he's played for two clubs this season on long term deals (permanent or half/full season loans) so he can't play for a 3rd. We can wait until after the window closes and "sell" him the same way P'boro sold us Boyd last season (for different reasons), but that does massively decrease his value if he's going to be missing for them for the whole of January. (and I'm saying the whole of January as they'd presumably want him to be available until the end of May should they be in the playoffs, so they couldn't start the 93 days too early)

At the moment Cairney doesn't fall into the same situation as we didn't play him before loaning him out, but if he plays during January then only Blackburn will be able to sign him (other than on emergency loans again).

Id hope our powers that be realise this and don't feel unnecessary temptation to play him vs Boro.
